Hi, when people from certain countries visit my site i want them to be redirected to an other site but people from other coutrnies i want to go directly to my site. So for example if i want german people to be redirected to another site and have a system on my site that redirects all people with german ips to another site whilst have all people from other countries go to my site without being reidrected, would i get penalized for this? would google see this as a doorway page or something? or would i be ok
all the big companies having global presence practice redirection based on geo ip. even google does the same thing. if i type in google.com, i get redirected to google.ca since i'm from canada. nothing wrong with that
we can all say you will not be penalized for doing that, but it is best if you will contact Google and ask them about it..
Good luck with that bro! Anyway, redirecting might even help. Companies that redirect you to a country specific portion of the site might even rank better since they are optimised for those countries like - site.com/uk - will be optimised for UK using British "slangs" and site.com/de might even have entire page in German ... I personally have not tried doing that yet ... might need to if my project will need a global presence ...
I want to redirect some people to a complete different site. SO for example all people from germany will be redirected to a totally different site whilst all the people from every where esle will be redirected some where else. So if i do that i it wont hurt my site will it? the site im redirecting to wont rank higher than me will it?
Geo seo matters more now! So redirecting the site for different location based on Ip's will defiantly works to target different people with by product or service versions! Any way make your site more Unique & Qualitative !All d Best
well i just think Google might see this as a doorway page or something and also i worry that i might drop in rankings for this
So if i redirect for example all german people to a totally different site and keep all the other visitors on my site this would be ok?
I think this is perfectly fine, you are giving google exactly what they want for their users, customised experience
I think Google would actually like this, because you are improving the experience of the user. As someone stated earlier, a lot of big companies are already doing this. I think it sounds like a great idea, and you should go for it
sultanofseo are right but google fwd handeled by manually as the search engine made by them.So for them that will be not applicable.Domain fwd is not a good practice and void the t&c so please not do that.
Redirection is not a black hat techniques, Google will allows the redirection of url's for link building. It is not offense in search engines.
