First check your website content, whether you site has unique content or not, then check site back links. If you have low quality back links you will receive mail from google webmaster.

This is what i got from google team:

We reviewed your site and found no manual actions by the webspam team that might affect your site's ranking in Google. There's no need to file a reconsideration request for your site, because any ranking issues you may be experiencing are not related to a manual action taken by the webspam team.

Of course, there may be other issues with your site that affect your site's ranking. Google's computers determine the order of our search results using a series of formulas known as algorithms. We make hundreds of changes to our search algorithms each year, and we employ more than 200 different signals when ranking pages. As our algorithms change and as the web (including your site) changes, some fluctuation in ranking can happen as we make updates to present the best results to our users.

If you've experienced a change in ranking which you suspect may be more than a simple algorithm change, there are other things you may want to investigate as possible causes, such as a major change to your site's content, content management system, or server architecture. For example, a site may not rank well if your server stops serving pages to Googlebot, or if you've changed the URLs for a large portion of your site's pages. This article has a list of other potential reasons your site may not be doing well in search.

Google recently released another Panda algorithm and your site probably got hit by it, or maybe your competitors have gotten more backlinks and traffic than your site thus giving their site a boost in rank. There are other factors like your keywords and your backlinks. I suggest you look at those first then check your content to see if you indeed got hit by an algorithm change.

Hope that helps. Have a good day!

Your site got hit by Google update. As you says that your data comes from media and PR agency then most probable that data updated on other sites also.

Check whether that data is uploaded on other site or not.

if you aren't an expert, you should have some know-how of SEO. Otherwise it'll be really tough for you to figure out what actually happened? Can you tell me when exactly did you see the drop? Also share your domain name, i would like to see it myself.

Wow. your website has copied content then you must be hit by a Panda. You can recover your website by deleting all the similar content on your website and only upload unique content. Though, there's still no time frame when your website will recover but try it for a few weeks and i hope it'll be back.
