I know Google have now said that they don't take the keywords in the meta-tags into consideration when ranking, so what about the other search engines? DO they still look for keywords and if so what is the aerage amount we should use without turning it into keyword stuffing? Thanks
I've long forgotten to put my keywords in the meta. I don't think these matter for most search engines these days. Where I do make sure my keywords are present is in the meta description i.e. these are shown in fat letters when a searcher performs a search for your keyword.
If you want to put keyword so there is no harm. Now best place to put your keyword in Meta Description.
meta keywords doesn't matter. no search engine looks for it. keep meta description tag in tact and unique for every page.
True, Google is not looking for Meta KWs anymore. But I don't think that inserting them for at least main page of your site will harm in anyway. In the worst scenario search engines will just skip it, but it may help you in ranking in less popular search engines and in small ones especially. Nothing bad about it I guess.
haha lol, really they DO matter, google is now not taking in count that right? but those keywords worth as 3 index keywords which actually means will rank your webpage before other web sites with NO meta keywords, and making meta tags is not that difficult there's free softwares that does it for you http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/meta-tag-generator.shtml It'll take 1 min. of your time. All the best.
Meta tags is not necessary and of that much important for search engine's these days but why to keep that field blank. Add some important unique keywords related to your website and content. Hope this helps you.
yes, it does matter. if the meta description is really well written and really compelling, then a person who sees it might click through more often
