Backlink Social Bookmark Tool Abused and Removed

For those of you who are familiar with the social bookmark tool I created, I had no choice but to remove it, even though there was huge response.

I created the tool, and hosted the images and all of the bandwidth. But apparently that is not enough for 98% of the webmasters who downloaded it.

98% Choose to remove the backlink, a condition of using it, these people should be ashamed of themselves and you know who you are.

For the 2% that did keep the backlink, I am deeply sorry for the inconvenience.

The social bookmarking tool is once again functional on my website.

I thought about what went wrong with the tool the first time around and realized that I was a little too trusting.

This time I have built mechanisms into the tool to discourage removal of the backlink.

I use AddThis.com for my social bookmarking tool.

There tool takes you to a page with a list of all the social bookmarking websites, and the user then clicks the relevant site.

Maybe you could convert your service to something like that? Then you could sell Ads on the actual page they go to as well?

I am considering this, but this time I have to really think it through and not give everybody the benefit of doubt.

Its a shame you can't trust more people - well I suppose its more of a shame they won't give you recognition in the first place for your work, then you wouldn't have to worry about trust!

    Good luck with it anyway.
