How to regenerate those lost trillions?

Much of the money lost was due to the downturn in housing and many houses plummeted in price. That puts ordinary people in a good position to 'flip' houses and much more attention should be given to restoring the property market.

There's a shit load of cheap houses all across America, some in good condition, some not so good. Pick a house that you know you can restore.

Americans like Donald Trump should invest in reality TV shows based around home ownership, in fact a range of these programs showing people how to buy, renovate & sell houses should be aired as often as possible.

Shows like 'The Block' and 'The Renovators' are all well and good but they only push people into doing up their own home themselves. I'm talking moreso TV programs pushing people into buying, which will stimulate the property market even more.

I mentioned Trump because he has a lot to gain from an upturn in properties, but Government could possibly help finance a plan too (seeing they gain incredibly too), to help people buy run-down houses, do them up and sell them off. This would help solve the unemployment problem as well as restore confidence back in housing.

With the property market back on track that would put a huge dent in that multi-trillion dollar deficit and I think more should be done to stimulate it again.

And here I was thinking you were above childish comment. Here I am coming up with all these ideas for regenerating all that lost money and you give a typical Republican response.

You guys need to learn that that attitude goes nowhere fast. 4 more years and YOU can make it what YOU want. Onward and upward is what your anscestors would say. Do something yourself to put your country on track - STOP RELYING ON GOVERNMENT to do it for you. Many hands make light work.

Something needs to be done about OPEC and China who are running the show. I do think it's too late.

You mentioned the wrong person. Trump is an idiot and a symbol of what is wrong with the USA. He doesn´t do business, he steals other investors' money. Typical Trump business model: 1) make a lot of noise about business venture 2) Collect a lot of money from different investors and borrow as much as possible 3) Steal as much money as possible from the collected funds 5) make an agreement with creditors that if they don´t want to be totally fu*ked, they should not try to take your share in the business 6) Put the company in the bankruptcy, so all other investors lose everything 7) start the re-organization of the bankrupt company

Whilst I agree he might be all you say, the fact is he has TV experience and, would know a good TV show can be a great investment. He wouldn't need to be on the show. The idea was to get it going it needs "someone" to back it, someone with money & influence to get the TV channels moving on it.

Too bad they are dead because they are much more entertaining and a lot more trust worthy as investment advisor than Trump. ;)

I was just making a joke since your post was a joke too. Don't take yourself so seriously, nobody else does.

There are plenty of serious ideas from serious people about how to improve the US economy. Yours was a joke... at least I thought it was. I did not realize you were serious, if you were it is just a stupid idea.

A TV show with Donald Trump to "regenerate those lost trillions".

You insulted the rest of us with that stupidity. Don't take it personally. You posted a solution to a big problem on a webmaster forum relying on help from Trump. You don't really expect to be taken seriously, do you?

I feel pretty strongly that anyone who holds out Donald Trump as anything other than the joke he is, is not to be taken seriously. He is a laughing stock to all but a very few.

People are investing in homes. My greatest hope for them is that their motivation DOES NOT come from reality television!!!

You're right of course, however ideas do start with the little people. :)

Fair enough but I wouldn't care what did it, as long as that deficit looks a lot smaller in 4 years. It's a case of getting the people onside, a way of weaning them into it. Not only reality TV but a whole pile of pushing is required.

How about, do you think restoring faith in housing will generate trillions more or simply push it into a bubble again?

Is a housing bubble a bad thing?
