I have been looking at hosting lately. I think that I have narrowed it down to four hosts: lithiumhosting, fatcow, hostgator, and bluehost. I am having a little trouble deciding between the four. Right now I have one website (A wordpress blog) that is completely ready to have its own hosting and be monetized. I also have 2 or 3 more sites that might be ready soon. Another thought that I had was to try multiple hosts for different sites and see how each one feels, but I'm not sure if that would cause some problems later on. Which host would you choose and why?
If you`re planning for more blogs then I recommend to go with Host gator baby plan, as here you can load up to 10 (also more) sites in single account. And their customer service is awesome! For now it is the best hosting for starters.
Stay away from all of them. They are all owned by EIG (except for Lithium), and offer nonsense "unlimited" hosting, which really doesn't exist. Nothing more than a horrible marketing scam.
Guys, you may want to look at eclub247.com I have used them for about 4 years with no issues and great helpdesk. Response time is always around 20 mins or less.
Out of those you listed I would choose Hostgator but in general avoid "unlimited" hosts as they all will fail to deliver and have strict cpu usage policies and what not.
Go for fatcow. Its gonna be the best of all. I've been with fatcow and never have been disappointed. vDeck is a lot easier to use than cpanel.
I prefer cPanel myself, so I would say Hostgator or Bluehost out of the four hosts you have on your list. Also consider Hawkhost and Downtownhost. I started using these hosting companies this year for some of my sites and have had no problems. Good luck!
Thank you everyone for the replies. I'll take a look at some of the other hosting services mentioned too.
It's always better to signup with hosting company which offers monthly payment term and money back guarantee, so you can find out if it's appropriate one or not. Use different methods to evaluate company (contact current clients, etc.), as it's easy to get blinded with fake positive reviews/testimonials.
Never go with lkwebhosting. They are a big scam company. I lost two websites recently. Check Mywot and other famous website review sites.
While comparing these hosting providers , we should pay a special attention to Fatcow company. The main advantages of the company are: reasonable prices, in comparison to competitors The pricing policy corresponds to the variety and quality of services provided. That means, you get what you pay for. good uptime in comparison to other hosting providers Functional possibilities correspond to modern requirements, most of the functions needed to create and evaluate a website from the start are there; even a beginner can use the cpanel efficiently, which is very helpful to attract new clients. reviews say: good functionality and tech support, but payment troubles FatCow gives the possibility to use Weebly Drag and Drop Builder - a tool, which gives an opportunity to create a nice, professional looking website based on the templates and which doesn't require any special knowledge of HTML and CSS. When the client finishes the website construction, he may wish to make a survey regarding the site evaluation and attendance. For a FatCow client it's much easier than for others, because the control panel allows him to create an account and add the website to "Google Services for Websites". The client has also access to use the tools like "HubSpot's Website Grader", websites SEO parameter analysis. If the website is used in commercial purposes, then the tool like "Toll-Free Phone Number" will be really useful - it's a phone number with a menu used for incoming calls, which provides the possibility of call diverting and calls controlling directly from web-interface. The average Fatcow support wait times according to WebhostingWach investigation is the following:
Check offers section, you might find great cPanel webhosting offers there - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2589129#post18201049 Cheers!
I would say hostgator, been with them for 2 years and quite happy. Other hosts I also recommend are hawkhost and eleven2.
Speaking about Hostgator, according to the reviews found on webhostinggeeks site, WebhostingWatch specialists made the following ratio of negative and positive reviews. Actually, the number of negative comments is twice greater than the number of positive ones ( see the attachment). The distribution of forum comments about the company in separate categories is almost evenly.
what kind of website are you going to host? do you have any location preference? Based on requirements, you can choose VPS or cPanel hosting with a great server performance, speed and reliability. And there're lots of small hosting providers with a better solutions and support then many big advertised companies.
