I am just curious is it possible to find out what domains a business or corporations owns. Even though their domain registration is private? Maybe the BBB can find this out? I am just curious... We have a client having some issues... Told them we would ask around..
You can use spyonweb, sometimes they can find some relationship between sites (adsense id, analytics, server ip, etc.) http://www.best-reviewer.com/best-r...spyonweb-reverseinternet-wikipopia-blekko.htm
It is not hard to find out who owns a domain. If they are having serious issues they can contact a lawyer who can easily get that information via a subpoena.
using private registration only protects from obvious spammers and legall trolls. However you can write to the contact listed on the whois asking for contact. They will follow up with you on requirements. You can only do this domain by domain. A provider is not obliged to give you a businesses' details on what domains they own as it breaches customer privacy laws (regardless of private registration) to the extent that they [Provider] can pretty much not have one at all.
I just want to add just a small addition to browntwn's comment which always seem solid from what I've read. An experienced lawyer can use different means to potentially obtain a less time consuming and costly solutions than a subpoena and much depends upon the circumstances. Most responsible registrars have no desire to associate themselves with customers who have fraudulent intent and are glad to cooperate - if they are able to without exposing themselves to potential liability.
