I don't think the difference is so great to want to switch from Host Gator to Blue Host. If I do ever move away from Host Gator then Blue Host would definitely be my choice.
There is no competition between hostgator and bluehost. Hostgator is a bigges and better company, they offer shared, vps and dedicated servers. on the other hand bluehost is only a replica of hostmonster and does only shared hosting. According to me hostgator is the best host. But the only shortcoming is their non-availablity of dedicated ip, u can get it but only for SSL not for seo. If anyone doesn't believe this, then try googling for hostgator vs bluehost or visit a hosting ratings and reviews website like whichosting.com or just open up both in 2 browser windows and compare their features.
actually i have no idea about Hostgator.but personally i prefer BlueHost.i you have no problem with Hostgator than its ok.
Don't go with hostgator. They took down my site without informing me. The issue was with my SQL consumption, little above their threshold limit. Such a bad experience. My site was down for a week and lost lot of revenue
I'll be the first to admit that I don't like HG, but how is it their fault that your site was using too many resources? Should they not suspend people who go beyond the limits?
Hostgator seem to be the industry standard. I like many other have used them for years without issue. There are lots of people that are looking for cheap hosting and in my opinion the $7 something I pay for my particular plan is well cheap considering the level of support Hostgator provide. Recently they really saved my ass when my sites were on the verge of near web death. They were able to sort my issue-out in no time at all. An issue that had left many people using other hosting companies on their own and without support, or an easy fix for their problem. Read my Hostgator Review - Hostgator Support Saved My Ass
I would stay with hostgator. I was with hostmonster which is related to bluehost and had alot of security issues. Not saying that was their fault but they were no help getting them solved.
In case you guys missed it, Hostmonster and Bluehost are now also related to Hostgator. EIG (who owns the other 2) bought Hostgator recently. It's only a matter of time before Hostgator meets the same fate, and becomes terrible just like the others they own.
I am using bluehost since a long time and never got any problem in it. Many pro bloggers recommended me bluehost. According to many of pro bloggers hostgator many times down and also costly than bluehost..
I personally wouldn't use either of them (I have tried them both). Dani, the reason a lot of bloggers promote both Bluehost and Hostgator is because they have high affiliate payouts and being such a large company there are hundreds of good (fake) reviews online from affiliates. SO they get a lot more people signing up under their affiliate link that people would with a smaller host.
I using hostgator for my blog and i never had a problem. Their technical support is really efficient and does help you with your problem. The price is affordable as well. You get regular discount and offers with hostgator
HostGator is The Best and Good News They are offering More cheaper services, if you want $9.94 Discount, there is a code from them " paylessgetmore " use this code and u will have a $9.94 less on ur hosting plan!
