I'm hooked, forums are now just about completely consuming each of my days… A couple days ago I set up a new forum - www.theforumzone.com It's a forum for forum owners and mods to discuss the ins and outs of running a successful online community. I know there are other resources out there that cover this same topic, but I think overall it's still a pretty undeserved market in the Internet world. My goal is to turn TheForumZone into a great resource for anyone who owns or is thinking of starting a forum. If nothing else, it should a good learning experience.
Thanks I will check it out. I own or mod some affiliate and domain name forums and think your forum is a great idea.
I've been busy, summer in Chicago and all. When you only get 1 month of real summer a year you have to try and enjoy it
After bi-weekly flights in and out of O'hare during the winter months, I COMPLETELY understand "1 month of real summer a year". I cannot recall ever being so cold as the winds in Chicago during those days and evenings. You enjoy every second!
Nice forum i got confused which forum i was on cos it looks the same as digitalpoint. I like your idea in rewarding members with advertisment on your site. Good luck and you will see me on your forum.
Thanks guys, I've been pretty pleased with how it's been going so far. I've been fortunate enough to have some pretty sharp people join and share with the rest of the forum. Tomorrow (the 15th) the forum has reached it's 2 month mark. 120+ members and just a touch under 2,000 posts in two months. I know those don't compare to digitalpoint forum numbers, but I'm pretty pleased with them
Just noticed this post... The forums are not owned by the same people. As far as it being a "rip off", I don't think having a similiar name and or theme constitutes it being a "rip off". There are hundreds of forums on just about every topic...bound to be lots of similarities.
exactly. Even forums on the same topic can have different focus. I have a site about mangine a forum, but its dedicated to vBulletin forums only.
I've visited the vbwebmaster forum a few times and I like it a lot. It has a real community spirit and I've picked up some great vBulletin tips.
