I work as a professional SEO Specialist for a Bank in the UK and find that as well as ourselves, our clients want instant results which can only be achieved through PPC and other similar channels. Keywords will still exist for search queries but the current method of link building will be far less important or will not exist at all. I believe that the only SEO factor 10 years from now will be good, solid, unique content and through social media (SMM) but the majority of traffic will be through paid channels. The focus from Google is obviously websites with good quality content which is updated regularly, I don't see how link building fits into what Google are trying to achieve. Anybody else have an opinion on this?
Hopefully, ten years from now, the net will be divided into zones. Good zones and bad zones. There is so much clutter, garbage, and scam on the net, that one day you will have to go to a "sector" to get "real" information. I agree about the death of link building. Google has other ways of finding sites now, so they do not need this type of rating in order to put websites in their place. Sometimes less is more, right ?
I actually think your 'dividing into zones' idea is pretty good! As you say, there's certainly way to much junk out there and something needs to be done!
10 years is a long shot. no one can predict how internet will act in 10 years from now. SEO and PPC are totally 2 different ways of driving traffic. even as of today, there are many business owners that are running active campaigns on both SEO and PPC while other use either one of them. all depends on the business model. who knows, maybe some totally new way of promoting a site will evolve in 10 years from now.
I think in 10 years we will have a completely different look at the internet, it will be grown very different, like now the social medias are taking over, in 10 years it could be something else.
Currently google not valid our site by link building benefits it need good content & quality of site link structure
I think an "old" way will revitalize. A good directory will be very helpful in the coming years on the polluted internet. By good, I mean trusted.
