True. Obama is about as socialist as we go, and even he would never be stupid enough to campaign on the idea of being the the hired help for a third world nation. Even if you wanted to campaign on improved trade with your closest neighbors, a worthy goal, would you really go about it by describing the next century as owned by your neighbors? It would be like us calling it the Mexican century, or Jonathin Quick describing it as a Red Wings decade, or Steve Ballmer describing it as an Oracle decade. These are the types of statements that get important people fired.

The opposition has been favoured to win next's years November election for the past 18 months according to polls. That is, until 2 of the last 3 polls put the parties as neck and neck. Abbott is losing ground fast and will be lucky to survive leading his own party into the election. His popularity rating is 30% - not bad for a right wing looney but far below the Prime Ministers.

BTW. China's growth rate is 7.5% down from 9%, how would the US like to be in that situation. Pity the Republicans stuffed the country.

When you consider that type of growth is predecated on human rights abuses, lack of labor laws, and a nation with 70% of it's people living in poverty, the obvious answer is no, we would not like to be in that situation. Neither would Australia. China has not even begun to deal with the myriad of complex problems it faces.

I can appreciate our current 2% growth rate sucks, but what are we to do, our president sucks ass. I have no doubt that replacing Obama with some leadership that wants to lead and compete rather than bow and follow, we will have no problem coming up to a healthy and maintainable 3.5%-5%.

I voted yesterday in the small airport and handed my sealed envelope over to be delivered. I scared the people there by saying "we should give him another 4 years right?"

The looks of horror on some of the faces (I should have pulled out the camera) told me I wasn't the only one hoping people have "woken up". Now I see why so many absentee ballots seem to not get counted.

Side issue: Obama looking great as the President after Sandy as he wins over Christie the turncoat. Romney compares the aftermath of Sandy to cleaning up the rubbish after a football game - what a wank.

Christie has witnessed how the Obama administration handles emergencies in states where the governor doesn't kiss his butt. I'm sure his praise of Obama is at least as authentic as the average North Korean that loudly applauds every time their dear leader so much as belches. Guess Christie took one for his constituents.

As for Romney, he's been collecting goods for storm victims, and as you'd expect he has been criticized by MSNBC. If he ran into a burning orphanage and singlehandedly managed to rescue all but 1 of 100, the headline would be "Romney Lets Orphan Burn".
