I have a website that got 9000 unique hits today and around 30,000 pageviews from those 9000 hits. Most of my pageviews are from my forums. 60-70% of my unique's are returning visitors day to day. How much money would be a good amount to expect from 9000 hits? I know many of you will say "well it depends on your Ads and your niche", but regardless of that, what is a good number to shoot for? So far I've made $90 and I feel that's pretty low compared to what I can make. Is that correct? Thanks. Ethan
first off you need to learn your vocabulary. "hits" should never be used when talking about statistics. ever. pageviews, unique visitors, returning visitors, etc. are fine. returning visitors drop the CTR significant as I'm sure you know. with all that said, it DOES depend on your niche. a lot. a tremendous amount. I have pages that make a few hundred a day that get less than 1,000 pageviews a day-- not on adsense, I'm talking about with affiliate programs, but it's still something you need to realize. different traffic is worth different amounts. 90$ on an arcade site or a myspace site etc would be typical and I wouldn't be surprised. if you're running a legal advice site or a site about finances and making 90$ with 30,000 pageviews a day, I'd be very concerned. bottom line, regardless of niche: if your eCPM is significantly less than $1.00, you can probably do better things to monetize your site than adsense.
My website is related to computer news and has forums. If you look at neowin.net, it's pretty much just like that (a competitor to that site). Yes it's $90/day.
you should possibly try some CPA offers to boost your income even more. as there are many CPA offers out there that appeal to the computer techie crowd.
yeh - i'd agree on about $100 per day. you're getting only a little more than I get at my biggest site, and that's around what I'm currently earning per day.. but it's up and down and all over the place..
It depends on what type of site your running but on a Myspace site 90$ is around what you should make maybe a little higher.
depending on the niche, id say 80-250$ could be made witht htat traffic, but your ctr should be around 1.5-3% at least.
Hi everyone, I find it amazing that some of you are making $90.00 a day in adsense - that is amazing ! Congratulations! I don't know how you do it. I can't even make $9.00 a day with several sites. Since you guys know what you're doing, could I please ask for your opinins on how I could improve my adsense income for http://www.skin-care-reviews.com. I have other sites, but that is the one that is the oldest. In October I had 5,214 unique visitors and in November 4,732 so far. Of course, my affiliate income went down to zero after I added adsense to that site, but what can you do ? I also have an adsense golf tracker on each page, but looking at those stats, it's hard to figure out what to do. Is it just a matter of publishing articles with article directories once a week to get traffic or paying for traffic ? Your advice would be appreciated. Thank you. Ken
Based on what I used to get I'd expect $120 from 30,000 page views. Smart pricing will kick you in the bum though. Anyone familiar with my recent thread knows that I ran images near my ads that brought my CPM up significantly, in fact just about the difference between $90 and $120. :-\ If your CTR is not in the double digits you can probably do better.
with as many returning visitors as the original poster said they had, a double-digits CTR would be close to impossible through any legitimate means in my opinion
You've got a great start Ken. My opinion is that you should put some thumbnail images just to the left of your ad block. Your site is so targetted they should be completely relevant. You'll want to leave a little space though. If you want to be super safe you could put them to the right but that won't help quite as much. There has been a lot of discussion on this topic here lately and the jury is really out. Secondly, think about this one. You have 216 pages in Yahoo. My sites usually have 1000+ pages (sometimes 100,000+). It's a trade off though. Yahoo will often prune you out if you get too big. However, sometimes they'll prune you if you stay small. My point is... you need traffic and you may want to consider ways to expand your site footprint. Just a thought. Remember, you need to be indexed for the words people are searching for... even the mispellings if that's what it takes.
Welp... you know I missed that... it was 9,000 and 30,000 right? Yeah... that would be hard. My bad. Maybe their site is just too good. Maybe they need to ugly it up a bit.
Would someone please kiss me? I go on a random harmless rant like a year ago and I still have to have a silly red box for the rest of my existence. :-( Even the guy that agreed with my rant only gave me neutral. Geesh.
if I got 9,000 uniques I would expect anywhere from 225-375 I guess. Idk depends on the day but for average I guess 275. If it was on a forums however maybe 100 idk
I think around the $100 is about right, no doubt you could probably earn more with 9,000 uniques and around 30,000 impressions - but hey everyone could probably more. That said, if you are earning around the $100 mark I'd say, without seeing your site, you're definitely aren't doing too badly.
