you forgot something, try the link to a series of video. If you can't, set up a back linking strategy for your video.
Guys, thank you for good feedback. I've inspired to research more on this topic. Have a new idea and already added it to the list: "Tip 19. Make people embed your video. Do you know what is the difference between linking to some website and you embedding some video? If you link to poor quality website Google won't like it, but Google is fine about embedding videos. Use this to promote your video, suggest website owners include your video on their website, explaining the fact that I've just explained. Owner of website will provide his readers with good content, without linking to any external low quality website."
vevus vici, could you please share you strategy for series of videos. What we do now is adding different keywords to the main keyword and creating more video as a result. Is it something that you use too?
There are a lot more to YouTube than many people know about. You've touched on the Youtube Keyword Research tool. This tool is HUGE but not many know about this. If keywords are being searched then assume there is traffic. You can speak about tags, time of posting, sharing, commenting and a lot more to get your video recognized.
On Youtube on average 70+ hours of video is being uploaded every minute. When you do your testing with videos you will find that a specific time of the day and a specific day of the week would work best for you based on your niche. This involves testing and which target market you are after.
cmorley, great idea, thank you for sharing, I'll try to research more to find out what is the best way to test time for the niche.
One more idea was added to the original list, now there are 21 better YouTube video ideas: "Use annotations. It is not clear if YouTube takes annotations into account when calculating if your video is relevant to certain keyword, but it is good option to communicate to your viewer. For example, ask to leave comments."
Although some items are somewhat obvious it was a good share. I'm not that into Youtube marketing but I have some friends who do, and boy, when they show me that paychecks it blows my mind
UploadRuby, thank you for your comment. Yes, basic things are must-have in list like this and yes, YouTube marketing is really hot now. One of the reasons is because of traditional SEO is dying. If you know and could share any ideas from your friends, feel free to post here!
+1 tip: Hot topic for any niche: Analytics. People love statistics - create a video with analytics for your niche. The best scheme is creating info graphic first and then creating video and uploading it to YouTube. For example this video about Balanced Scorecard analytics got 123 views in just a week almost without promotion.
Another tip: "Start today". The video with the biggest number of views was created in our account few years back. Its quality is low, there is no voice over, but it still in the top 3 results for target keywords. Conclusion: prepare and post your video today!
Is there any value in putting links within the video? I have seen many people do this, but I have never seen/heard if it is beneficial?
Yes, if you put link with http://www. then it will be clickable and any viewer of your video will be able to click on it and visit your website or landing page on your website.

I've immediately added this tip to my list together with explanation about how to do benefit from YouTube ads on AdWords. Check tip 23.
