How? By cheque or EFT. I think it's 50% of the commission from the hotels the affiliate get. (IAN takes the rest). My commission vary from 1,5 usd to 20 generally.

HI guys, any updates on Ian? Anyone making money with the program still. The one thing I find is that it is difficult to find user reviews about the site anywhere....there are not many people who are really out there talking about it...

    Any comments?

I am thinking of adding an affiliate on my site, although I don't really think any affiliates are money makers anymore...

anyone have any idea? Yes I do. Gotta tell you, it's not an easy niche
to truly crack open. First of all hotels always pay late, if they pay at all,
so Ian pays you late too. We're talking several months after the booking
actually happened and got paid by the customer.

I've done it for a while - and don't like it. A.sense is daily money, Ian is
based on good faith and good luck, which is not enough. Because it costs
money to bring travel sites into the top 10 - you cannot have it for free,
it's too competitive. So if the return on it comes 6 months later it's just
not sufficient to keep my attention.

It costs money yes, or you go wide. Branch into a local language etc. I've got many domains in a local language here and they bring in a couple of hundred bucks or so every month. Ofcourse most of it goes to paying domain fees. But it's still a nice sub-income for me. I'm not spending any time with it right now, but if I wanted I could crank it up.

Taking time to get the money.. who cares? After two months the cheques are ticking in, if two months bother you as a extremly long delay ... well.. I can wait :D

Hey that's great that you got paid faster than me. If you read carefully
what I said you will notice that I was talking about long periods of time
not 2 months. Mind you I know the travel biz also from a different angle,
1st base not affilate wise, what means direct supplier and "charge the
a client card now and in 2 minutes the money is in the account."

So you might understand what I mean of slow and fast.
Besides ever tried to use ad/s/ads on ian pages -- 5% of someting that
isn't sure is not as good as good old daily income that is VISIBLE...

Have been with a short time. No sales so far. Have had some via rez-solutions though. Anyone found any that search multiple travel sites (hotels, cruises, b&bs, etc.) and offer the same or better commissions as the above? Have seen some that PPC, which I don't consider worth my time.

Travel is a good niche if you have patience, Ian pays you half of what the hotels pay them; if the hotels pay. I sold a $800 vacation package and got about $90 in commission. Remember, you are not paid when the customer books you are paid when the hotel pays Ian.

Their tech support is very friendly and useful. they also have XML webservices.

i don't like ian.com........i've been an affiliate for about two months.....no sales yet.......the biggest flaws that i found are that they do no have last minute booking; you have to book about three days in advance.....and they have to confirm your booking in 24 hours!!!!.....so if the rate you tried to get is gone in less than 24 hours your fried........priceline has good commissions on bookings........I had someone setup my page with ian links........I also have links from two other affiliates companies.......

I've been selling a travel affiliate program for a bit over a month and I'm averaging 1 sale a week. Commissions are $500 - $1000. I don't have a site set up (I know, I'm bad for direct linking) so I think someone with a niche travel site that has readers or a list could do very well.
    PM me for the url
