Any way to increase the chance of being accepted into DMOZ?

I have been trying to get into DMOZ for several months. For some reason they aren't accepting my site which deals with learning a profitable method for trading penny stocks. Can anyone tell me the best way to get approved? I can provide the site upon request, I just didn't want to post it and seem like I am attempting to spam, because I am not.

What makes you think they have been turned you down?

Did you read any posts on here including the sticky at the top?

Did you submit more than once , against the guidelines (which say only submit once) that you agreed you had read?

    My signature might help you.

I agree with this "DMOZ can take from a few days to several years for a review & do not re-submit sites "

DMOZ is having great back linking techniques, They verify the site whether it is contained with any copied content or not. It takes too long time to process the output.

It had been almost 6 months when I submitted my blog to DMOZ. But I can’t figure out why my blog is not approved and not listed there.

I think I followed their guideline and other policies.

    Any suggestions is appreciated.

I can figure it out, read the top 20 threads in this forum and you will figure it out also.

    The short version:
Not enough editors, too many submissions and no one working on your category.
That's if your submission was perfect,
if it wasnt perfect, you will never get into DMOZ you lost your chance.

I had a veteran DMOZ editor submit one of my sites many years ago and NOTHING happened which means that the quality of the submission means nothing

DMOZ doesn't really help anymore, Google said it themselves.

They value DMOZ like any other site. No more of the authority DMOZ used to have.

It's just a backlink these days, that's all.

If you are looking to get a linkback from a good website why are you bothering with the outdated directory project? Traditione and joeventura gave about all the information you will ever need about DMOZ.... you will get more pull spamming nofollow forums then submitting to directories these days, DMOZ included.

I had sites submitted to DMOZ by DMOZ editors (years ago)
If I can't get listed, you will never get listed.

    Trust me.

    Its like the old saying,
If you submit a site to DMOZ and there is no one to see it, did you submit it?

    The answer is no!

There is like 30 active editors on a site that still probably gets 1000 submissions a day/week.

They will never get to yours.

Many of them don't even look at submissions, they look for sites on their own in case someone who doesn't want a listing needs one.

    LOL

what do you think about joeventura said, if we want our website listed on dmoz or other open directory, it is better to be an volunteer editor?

There is no way an Editor would suggest any sort of changes to anything, its just not something we do:(

Im certainly not privy to any numbers but i'm guessing 30 is waayyyy under the number of editors actively editing and 1000 submissions per day or week would be GROSSLY under what we get. Multiply that by 20 x and you may be close (lol)
