My kids go to a private Christian school, where they have to wear a uniform. I pay them, and they tell my kids what to wear. At the price of free, people should be willing to wear whatever the school requires. They can always home school if they don't like it. I've been thinking a lot about Germany's law against holocaust denial. The libertarian in me detests it, but one can definitely see the logic behind such laws. At some level, failure to take reasonable measures to protect your culture is just dumb. ( I cant believe i'm siding with Putin).
I don't have a strong opinion on the matter. I can see both sides of the argument. Maybe if Islam was not in a phase where a portion of its believers are acting violently against non-violent individuals, then this would be a non-issue.
Uniforms even the playfield in public schools. The only schools that don't need uniforms are art schools where creativity is the number one priority. The kids don't choose to wear religious uniforms in primary school they parents make the choice. In the past decade Russia lost over 10.000 innocent lives in an onslaught of terrorist attacks including events like the Beslan massacre and the Bolshoi theater massacre. Encouraging Islam in Russia it's like encouraging drug cartels in Mexico or the KKK in the US.
Russia like many other countries outside the Western World, do exactly what they feel is internally necessary and do not cow-tow to minority behavior. Putin is a good leader and a ban on headscarves probably means that Russia is not prepared to accept the idiotic and addictive habits of Muslims wearing their headscarves or face veils. Well done Vladimir ! I hope he soon gets round to those damned stupid skull caps the Jewish men wear.
My son goes to a school that has a school uniform, Black jumper, grey shirt and slacks, and a red tie. All students must wear their uniform, and would be sent home if they turned up at school without it. The girls school which is just next to the Boys school also has a uniform. I really think this is the way to go,, as all students are forced to wear what the school tell them, and not what over religious parents, or overzealous priests or holy men tell them to wear. Do we really want to see our kids dressed like this leaving school ?
