server must carry this traffic (not so much cpu load or sql load) and i need a cheap one:D

    Hi,

You may want to check out the WebHostingTalk.com forums. They have a "web hosting offers" sub-forum there where web hosting providers will go and post some really good deals, often exclusive to webhostingtalk.

    I hope this helps,
    Michael

If you run a vbulletin forum with 10000 visitors a day, CPU usage will be a major issue.

A dedicated server is basically a computer that you rent from a web hosting provider. The computer is only to be used for your sites (unlike shared/virtual hosting, where you share a computer with 20-200 other people).

The web host will connect your rented computer to their network, which usually has a very good connection to the internet. But this varies from host to host.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    I hope this helps,
    Michael

LOL, he was asking what the 'decided' server was.

Anyway, try ServInt.com... a few of my friends use their hosting and they've all been happy with them so far.

    very apparently dedicated server

    price should never matter
with that amount of visitors - total 15000 visitors per day
you will have some 2000-3000 us$ adsense income OR you do something VERY wrong!

hence all is paid by clever adsense optimization for a real quality hosted dedicated root server

i moved a month ago to one
2x300 GB sata drives, SW raid, x86_64, absolutely UNlimted traffic

a fraction of the adsense pays for all total cost of a dedicated server

i chose the one OS i also have sine 1998 in my laptops to be sure i know exactly what the server has and to allow full simulation or testing of new SW or configs if needed.

    in addtion
a move to a dedicated server may bring you substantial traffic increase IF you have poor IPs before and clean IPs now.

I moved from 1and1 USA to hetzner.de (EU) - a medium size high quality host and got an instant 30+% traffic increase overnight with proportional adsense $ increase as well - hence all dedicated root server expense is paid in advance after one month by the move to new host and dedicated server.

the typical dual sata drives offered can either be used as raid
    or
to split the load to 2 drives if you use ftp backup or other backup solution

root server = you need to know and do all
hence you will want to have exact same OS as you have on your laptop
    managed dedicated server
you lose most of the flexibility and benefits of root - you will have to wait until server management does things for you
root server you do all instantly - but you have to know HOW and WHAT do do of course!

for NO money in the world would I ever want to go back one step away from root server

    Definitely, without a doubt, www.liquidweb.com

I've been with them for almost a year now and I'm completely satisfied with their services and products. they are very affordable and should fit all the needs you are talking about.

I recommend you to setup a cluster like a server for database since you use vbulletin as vb backend runs on mysql you should setup a server for mysql and other for http and if you dont want to do that since it's expensive then purchase some good server like Dual Xeon or Dual Core AMD :)
