Yahoo is re-opening its Publisher Network with Media.net

    Hi,
I've read that Yahoo the losers are making a new joke on the small publishers, now they don't want to have anything to do with us, so they made a partnership with media.net who will handle the publishers and Yahoo will provide the ads.
So there will be Yahoo taking its lion share and Media.net deciding how much peanuts they'll give back to the publishers.

After having a 5 years beta with their YPN and never extending it to publishers outside US/CA, now they dare to come back and do like if nothing happened. That's why I call them losers, because they are.

Why do they do that? Because they're are soon to lose another spot in the ad revenue top 3, until 2010 they were number one, but now they are the only one making less revenue from one year to the next, Google and Facebook, which are way younger than Yahoo have seen their earnings from ads increase (despite the state of the economy, as seen on TV)

Anyway, since it doesn't cost anything I applied to media.net but in fact they will start sending invitations (not to me for sure) only from 15th october to selected publishers (read publishers who have most traffic from US/CA/UK)
So same old story, with even less earnings, but what will be interesting is to see if they can pay publishers even less than Chitika which is currently the second PPC ad network for publishers after AdSense and paying 7-10 times less than adsense.

    More useless ranting: http://www.best-reviewer.com/yahoo-bing-publisher-network-managed-media-net-9384.htm

Even though YPN doesn't have a great track record in my mind either, I'm interested in seeing what they have in store with Media.net.

    Well, same story.

The only one can break reign of Adsense is Facebook. I dont understand why they are not interested in to publish ads on 3rd party sites. Google did that and now they are leading net.

3 large companies to compete with one 14 year old Google. It sure is doable, but these 3 companies have wrong approach. It's easy, Google takes about %30 revenue share. The 3 companies should get 0% or 1% for the first 5 years. Till they have a client base. These companies won't die by doing so as Wikipedia or Craigslist have not died for providing free services.

instead the media.net and yahoo/bing will take 75% share if they are as stupid as this all sounds..
Like announcing it 3 weeks before sending invitations, what for? Do they believe it creates a buzz? Are they still living in 2008?
I think many people are still looking down on yahoo for being so stupid, and microsoft with bing they are the same, they too never entered the real competition with adsense, why? if microsoft can't compete with google, what is this? It sounds like those companies are spoiled with money already, and that they don't care, they got lazy, I can understand that, me too after my first billion I'd get very lazy and could not care less about entering competition with adsense..

OP ,I could never get approved by yahoo. I would try every six months or so. I had a blog with four years of content on it when I applied the last time. After being ignored for about the fourth or fifth time, I played it childish and wrote an angry blog post about them and I included some links to sites that were so bad... just jibberish on the pages.. oh and keywords in the jibberish.. lol. So I "DISAVOWED" yahoo. hehe.

You're going to cause me to do it...... no wait. my sites are all offline, .. bascially. it was just a whimiscal thought :)
