BS there is no 'usual' time. The category I've submitted to hasn't been edited for over 2 years. DMOZ doesn't care about your submission, most of the sites listed aren't through submissions but through editor research.
I've never had luck submitting to DMOZ... I really have nothing. You could always become an editor I guess.
Prepare your website, get rid of bad backlinks. Try to add your website only after 6 months of its age.
Can you read????? There are threads and posts around you, yet you ask this question Open your eyes and read the answers looking you in the face.
Read my signature to see how long it can take for a listing to be reviewed for a possible listing (the site has to comply with DMOZ guidelines to get a listing)
Let me introduce you to the DMOZ Fast Five. The most important step is #5. DMOZ Fast Five 1. (read and understand) the Inclusion Rules for Suitability. 2. (read and understand) both the Suggesting a Site and Submitting a Site Guidelines. 3. Type your site information into a text file and check it against the guidelines in step 2. 4. Once you're certain. Suggest/Submit the damn site. 5. Forget.
That fits well within points one and two so is rather redundant, especially as it's after the forget part. OH WAIT, lol... I get it now. That explains the sites in the ODP that don't comply.
Hahaha, that actually is quite funny. Technically you could lump 1-3 in the same basket and call it doing your homework, step 2 would be submitting once, and step 3 would be forgetting about it (i.e. you've done the best you can time to move on). I would actually apply that rule to just about any website you are trying to gain a listing/link/whatever from, because realistically you could waste a tonne of time whingeing about not getting 1 link. Which is time that could've been spent getting 10 just as good ones from other places, that immediately negate the fact you missed that 1.
