    I like to buy my domains form a well known and established company, so I still use GoDaddy. Their hosting plans are terrible though

    I seriously recommend that you take your business to NameCheap. Most of the domains i own are with Namecheap.
    The ones that are not will be soon. They have great, cheap prices and great support.

    There are tons of domain name registrars. I'd recommend time-tested and and reputed ones along with ICAN=accreditation.
