Fake pagerank..?

    Is there any other way to check if an expired domain has real pagerank if seologs doesnt show any results and the site isn't indexed?

    Use that to check the domain's PR on multiple data-centers of Google.

    Expired domains might have very few backlinks but still a high PR - this doesn't necessarily mean the PR is fake. But the PR will surely fall down in the coming updates.

    The domain is not showing any links, and is it indexed in Google.

    It might have been removed from Google's cache if it has expired couple of months ago.

    I'd say, register it (just $9 even IF you lose the PR soon), and sell it of for a good price. Might work, might not work.. do it at your own risk..!

    I have never seen that many sites with fake PR I wouldn't worry about it!

    I recently added a redirect from mysite.com to ww.mysite.com in the .htaccess and it thinks I have a fake domain, so do take it with a grain of salt.

    how do you 'fake' a PR tho?

    Thanks for the posts all they helped me out too. If the domain sounds good, then i suggest you buy it then resell it somewhere.. It's only like $6!

    If you want to tell if a site's PR is fake all you have to do is type the domain name into the google search box, if the returned url is different then the site url then the PR has been hijacked from the returned url.

    Why waste time analyzing backlinks when there is a foolproof to tell in 5 seconds or so?
