Anyone has tried InMotion hosting? Top most concern is downtime and response speed- not falling in the unlimited bandwidth or disk scam again :p

Well, I believe that it will be a good idea to read some customer hosting reviews at webhostingstuff and hostjury review sites.

Inmotion is reliable you won't have to worry about downtime with them. What kind of website are you looking to host?

If you're worrired about the "unlimited" disk or bandwidth scam, you definitely don't want Inmotion. That's all they offer on their shared hosting plans.

I would try and stick away from the big brands if I were you. You usually get better service (i.e. support) from smaller hosting providers.

Stick with small time companies, they often buy direct from the big boys anyway, without "Overselling" their services. Plus, you're supporting an aspiring entrepreneur.

Nicely said. It's a tricky one though, whether to use the big brands because they're well known and will give you a decent service, or go for the younger companies who are still trying to grow and establish themselves. Smaller companies often provide better support.

Most hosting providers that offer "Unlimited Space and Traffic" will be required to pass a separate package if you have a larger site.

But there are providers who keep your site on the same tariff plan. (site5, hostgator)

Inmotion is rather expensive in comparison to other top hosting providers. If you read their AUP in details , you will see that they limit the number of domains hiosted with them , though they say at the beginning that the number of domains is unlimited. Moreover, they provide a free backup restoring option only once in 4 months.

Their real uptime rating is 98.77 %.
