Trusting ELance?

    Hey everyone,

I've been seriously considering putting some money into starting some new projects, however they're things that I'm not currently capable of programming myself. So I've been looking into ELance.

Has anyone had a very unpleasant experience with elance? I'm just a little iffying on trusting someone that I've never dealt with before on doing everything exactly the way I imagine them. I know thats where portfolios and all that comes in, but still.

Does anyone have any advice or anything for me, before using elance for the first time? I'm all ears to anything else that I should be aware of.

    Thanks guys!

Why do you say rentacoder is better? Elance looks much more professional and appears to have more qualified professionals to me.

I don't like both of them, and I like direct connection with client. As for me, it's better to have 2-3 clients, who want to start serious project, work on this projects for $XXXX sums, and not to take $20-50 script development tasks on such sites.
Btw, maybe somebody knows good professional web-sites, like RAC, but with payed membership?

I have the exact same policy for myself. I like to focus on onething at a time.
