When i started my site, the PR was 2 but then after a few months the PR went down to 1 and now it is 0. Can anyone help me in this regard on how to get it back ?
Exactly..........try to get quality links and don't use any black-hat seo technique while doing link-building.
Hi PR is totally based on back links so if your PR is decreased it means your back links also decreasing. So try to create high PR back links for your domain and sure your PR will increase. Hope you understand.
did you purchase a dropped name only for its pr? or did you create a new domain and build it from pr0 to pr2?
echo_unlimited said it most succinctly, that's all you need to do. Matt Cutts, head of the Google webspam team has regularly commented that you shouldn't become too obsessed with your pagerank; a high pagerank means that your site gets crawled more frequently and and more deeply, so if all your webpages have been indexed by Google then pagerank isn't really doing a lot for you. Personally, I'd focus on pagerank a little bit more if there were deep parts of my site that I suspected Google hadn't crawled yet because they weren't crawling deep enough, I'd also want to look at my site structure to see if I could make it easier to crawl. Sure, a high pagerank is worth striving for, but mainly because it shows you're going in the right direction.
Well... 0 PR is still some PR. You need to focus on link building and build content on your website. Don't worry about it and keep work.
Wow that's a great reply, what if the site is a forum ? How to build more HQ content No, i purchased new domain, Thanks for reply
You may have caught for spamming by Google. Do link-building and other optimization wisely. Dont over optimize your site.
If you built the site and done social bookmarking right before a PR update, sometimes it fools the system and gives you PR but drops quick. I've had it happen a bunch of times where I built a site and did social bookmarking to get it indexed quickly and there just happened to be a PR update the next day or two and gave me a PR1 or 2 on the sites but went down the next time it was crawled. Or maybe you had a high PR link that was removed. Could be a bunch of things. But I recommend getting over PR. It is not important unless you plan to sell links. If you want a nice site and plan to use Adsense I would get over PR and focus on your SERP's. PR will come naturally in time. - The last I remember 0 meant none, nothing. So that would be no PR lol everybody gets a 0 once indexed.
You should follow some ethical techniques, and maintain quality backlinks by doing blog posting, article submission, forum posting, bookmarks, directory, press release and more.
i guess PR is dependant on traffic ? please clarify my query. PR = number of backlinks or PR= number of visitors ? THank you
