What do you guys think about E-Mail Marketing.

I recently set up an account with phplist & sent out a few million E-mails advertising my websites service & I saw an incredible amount of traffic from it. This was my first tactic in advertising and I believe it worked for me. The e-mail I sent out was very professional and got straight to the point.

What do you guys think about this method to advertise your service's & websites?

 

Email marketing done properly is great. Mass spamming millions of people unsolicited is not. If you can build up an email list of targeted users in your niche (who have opted in) and send them good, value, content you can sell to them over and over again. Just trying to extort them however isn't a great idea.

 

In my opinion, professional e mail marketing is to send bulk email to the targeted customers. that will bring more ROI (return on investment). therefore mail marketing is considered as the cost-effective and fast way to reach our targeted customers.

 

Very good feedback, although at times if you have a service designated for the "average joe" even a mass email to random e-mails can do the job.

 

How much did something like this cost you to run?

 

I think email marketing can be very effective if done properly.

Hey that phplist website, is that just a program to mass send emails or do they provide some kind of targeted list of emails for your niche?

How did you collect all those emails?

If you sent spam to me I would most likely report you if I had not personally subscribed to your list.

 

I give the most importance to email marketing to marketing my products.

 

I'm not that good at it, but I'm on my way to success! Haha, I honestly think email marketing is quite important and could be very effective.

 

Yeah it really depends on the your target customers. If people dont care about your brand it would fail. Interesting subject lines might make them open the email. But most of the time people just don't care and they ignore them

 

Nothing phplist is free.

I gathered them through previous websites I have had.

If you do a well written email that looks very professional targeting all audiences it can be very effective.

 

Email marketing can be effective, you just have to make sure not to cross into random spamming because you can get blacklisted or worse

 

What hosting services are you using for your sites for email marketing? Can you share a few please ?

 

In my opinion,email marketing can help you when you use it correctly and never spam.You need to be direct to the point in your emails to clients.You need to make your email short as possible.

 

Hostgator allows I believe 800 emails per hour.

 

what type of hosting?....from what I know ..shared ones have a limit of 500 emails/hour....VPS...dedicated ? ....

 

I think, just as others do, that targeted email can be very useful. Just shooting out emails to any old address really does no one any good, especially your product or business. Opt-in lists or those that have at some point contacted me, corresponded with my company in some capacity are the only targets I hit.

 

500 an hour is still good if you use phplist you can leave it running and it automatically shoots 500 every where.

 

Email marketing has been my most successful tool so far, but I've really found that you NEED to build up a good relationship with who you're sending the message to before you send it.

Before I knew this, I tried use those paid "send your email to 10 million double opt in emails," and it didn't end up getting me any sales. Since then, I've set up a squeeze page that has worked wonders via Optimize Press. The people that sign up are obviously interested in my niche.

I always send out 3 or 4 emails of just straight content with no links or ads. This establishes me as a reputable person that won't spam them, and it makes them much much more likely to buy in the future.

 

Email Marketing is always a good way to generate leads and sales .
- low marketing cost but high ROI
- able to track the marketing campaign
- generate repeat sales from existing database by sending upsell and crosssell.
- increase customer relationship by sending some useful information or wishing to your database
- reach larger market which you can send bunch of emails to a data you purchase and increase your leads

Remember try not to use too much media or image which content high KB of email, don't use " ! " in the email subject which will increase your spam score when sending emails.
