Alexa ranking has been by a website Ranking by the visitors who visits the website with the Alexa toolbar. And since a long time Google was on the top of All. But the recent change on alexa has affected.
    Facebook win over Google [ALEXA]

Lol. Tanya no matter what, Google will always remain on top. You will not see people using anything except Google for the next 20 years at least! Coz Google is an Industry Giant which can't be took out that easy, especially by a Social Networking site (Facebook). :)

Facebook could take some search market share from Google if they can integrate a good search algorithm into the site. Google's recent anti-spam changes have made their search results less relevant. I even switched to DuckDuckgo.com for most of my searches. If Facebook can transform from a site that you "visit" to a site that you start from then they can make some inroads. Yahoo and AOL utilized those portal models well years back. Facebook could become a portal as well. Now that they're a public company they will have difficulty because profit growth will trump innovation most likely. Same thing that happened to Apple when Jobs was forced out in the mid 80's and now Google with their sacrificing good customer experience for profit growth. Time will tell.

Alexa data is very bias. How many people are not using Alexa? the data is only for the amount of users who have alexa toolbar installed and there are lots of people don't have it.

Who cares for one. For 2, Alexa is not even close to accurate...
AND, Facebook has peaked. mark my words... They will start going down from here on out. People are getting tired of it fast. Not that it will be gone fast or ever gone for that matter. But they are on their way out like myspace.

Even when Facebook will become more popular than Google it doesn't change a thing. Google help to get information and Facebook only takes time ;)
