$35 logo contest for law firm - finalist to be decided by Saturday

Hello friends:

I need a good black and white logo for a law firm. Must be only black and white. The law firm is named

Banm Law Offices, LLC

I'm looking for something modern and stylish, not old and formal. I'd like to see some clever use of type and fonts. The law firm has a specialty in technology related law.

In addition to the firm's name (which must include ",LLC") I'd like to see a the following words beside or beneath it:

Maryland & District of Columbia

I'll drop in for some feedback and pick the winner by Saturday 12:00 noon GMT. Then maybe I'll ask for minor revisions if necessary. Payment in two pieces via PayPal. I will pay $15 for the winning design and then $20 once I have received revised product with illustrator and photoshop vector files plus high-res tiff. Final product is all rights to me. Please include fonts used.

Here is my attempt, changes can be made according you.

 

That's good looking type. But remember that it has to be black and white. What would it look like if you took out the blue sphere?

 

In this one I'm worried that the arches make it too hard to read. Maybe they could be more subtle?

 

I like the one in the lower left corner that has the B on top. I'm talking about the one where the lower loop of the B has been cut away. What if you reversed it so that it was a white B (and L) on a black background of some sort? Maybe an oval or a rectangle with rounded corners?

 

Interesting. I like the white on black. But I worry that it's too black and maybe not readable enough. Creative entry.

 

The font isn't doing it for me. I do like like the simplicity but I'm distracted by the heavy weight of the center line. This isn't the one but it has potential. Thanks for your entry.

 

There is potential here/ Could you give it a shot with an upper case B? I like the curvy lines of the low case B --maybe try a big B that features some curves? This design might be enhanced if you took "Law Offices" and ran it bottom to top along the flat edge of the B.

 

So far I'm really liking what I see.

I'm afraid my suggestion destroyed your good design. It's impossible to read now.

 

I feel like this is going good places. Must have LLC at the end though. I'm wondering if it wouldn't look better if you used a stylized B on its own. I'm wondering if blending it with an L isn't making it confusing. Would you mind trying a strong B on its own? I'm really liking the itals by the way.
