Annoyed'

I am annoyed. I have been working my butt off and it was all going so smooth. However this month seems like its been awful. Sales are way down compared to all other month.

I have great seo set in and am getting dozens of visits. For instance this visit:

Someone Googled: "Levi's Men's Coated Military Jacket for sale"

My link is the 5th one down and was clicked. The items a awesome deal at 55% off. The customers search phrase indicates he was ready to buy. I have tons of hits like these. However my sales are so far down this month. I am feeling terrible momentum here.

I am so frustrated. I work Fri-Sun full time so I do my best to update the site on these days, but i cant always do tons of products on those days. But I stay pretty consistent all other days. I dont know what to think. I have tried different layouts on multiple pages. Some with video reviews, picture links, full picture galleries, carosul widgets.

    Hmm..

    ..hmmph..

Hi LemonTide, It's a great looking page and not too many distractions and you're in a very good position to get lots of targeted views and basically people with a card in their hand reading to buy. As I've previously mentioned, if you repeat this process with a wide and varied selection of the right products and arrive at page one on Google then, by law of numbers you will start to see some nice returns.

    Keep up the excellent work.
    Mark :)

Thank you Mark. Your wisdom and uplifting words from past experience is exactly what I was seeking when writing that post. I just needed to be uplifted and reminded or told I was headed in the right direction.

Very excited to go on once again..

    Alan

PS - Perhaps we could design a graphic that reads: "Read full customer reviews for this product here." and link it directly to the product page on Amazon which offers reviews on it. Then we would have the cookie on Amazon and the customer would have their reviews and see all Amazon offers to upsell. Do you think this would be a worthwhile project?

Here is a question.. are we allowed to show how many stars the product is rated on Amazon on our website and then link that "stars rating graphic" to the product reviews on amazon?

There will always be obstacles in the way and the true path of the online world like any other business doesn't always run smoothly. Stick with methods that don't consume to much of your time and keep it simple. People don't what flashing lights or in your face buy me now buttons, just basic and honest information about the product and a pleasant call to action near the bottom of the page like "Click Here For More Information On The .........."

    Mark :)

It does usually slow down during the main holiday months of July and August, but you should notice a positive difference this month and going forward towards the huge Christmas market. I don't have a specific website, but have a wide and varied selection of product review blogs mainly in the technology niche.

I understand, it is easy to get carried away.

My site is http://Furor.co. The traffic is still good. But sales dropped this month.

It sounds like you are getting great targetted traffic to your site and like you say, from what people are typing into the search engines they are ready to buy.

What you need to have in place with your site is a great sales funnel. For instance when the person clicked on your link in google regarding the Levi example you have mentioned, the first page they land on your site should review this product. It should be in a positive way but also honest. If there are negative points about this item mention it but not in any great details. Gain the interest of your reader. Then at the end of this review there should be a link which is the page where you actively sell the item to the reader. Show images, the specifications of the item and talk about the benefits again and why the reader must have this. Then have a BUY NOW link or similar.

I know this sounds like a lot of work but this should generate a lot more sales. Just something to think about

I would try adding a order now link by the picture.. It took me about 60 seconds to find it, most people when they don't see it at first they'll automatically look for another site just my opinion.

I will try your suggestion. I have this image on each product page:

    http://furor.co/buyam.png

I am going to upload a order now button with the same image name so it replaces the graphic on every page. I will leave it up for one week and see if there is a positive effect. I liked the look of the current button. But I am after results. Thanks for the suggestion.

Your website looks quite nice but you have little or no unique content. The homepage has nothing and the product pages I checked don't either.

There is nothing that your website is doing other than providing links to Amazon.. which is useless in the eyes of Google. If your website is going to be successful what value are you adding? Comprehensive reviews? Good detailed information about the products? Buying guides, FAQs, "How To" articles etc.? Are the videos unique and created by you?

Conversion tweaks, different order buttons, design tweaks, social sharing etc. are things to look at after you are getting decent traffic and have built a website that does offer value.

If you are getting traffic now I wouldn't rely on it, as Google will eventually grade your site as a "Thin Affiliate" site.

I don't mean to be harsh or overly critical, but just giving you my advice and experience.

It's a really nice site and you can tell you've worked hard on it.

Like others have mentioned, I think you should Change the Buy Now button to a basic one without Amazons Logo etc on it. A nice bigger size 100x75 or something with "Buy Now" text. Hyper linked to the Amazon sales page (with your affiliate id in obviously).

You are certainly entitled to your opinion. However I have ten+ years experience in affiliate marketing. Between two programs I have over 4,700 referrals which create residual income for me on a monthly basis. I didnt get these referrals by word of mouth (well maybe a dozen).. I built effect webpages (several) that deliver the referrals what they needed to sign up. Years later I still see 5-12+ referrals sign up on a monthly basis which will result in additional income month after month. These are referral programs that help people save money shopping or where people are rewarded for their opinion. I have made thousands.

I have applied the same technique to this project. It is working. 45 days out of the gate and I have $100's in sales. Search engine traffic increases weekly. You better believe I count my search engine traffic every 24 hour period and see what is working. People are getting their fix of information. They are seeing a full review and seeing the product be used. They are getting feedback from peers. So I am delivering the good. Its what I do. I wrote a recent article with some good tips that should help you & its free. Just check the forum.

Experts with experience in the field exclaim: "you're in a very good position to get lots of targeted views and basically people with a card in their hand reading to buy."

I appreciate their excitement and experience. I understand you have experiences yourself. Id say what Google is going to drop to the bottom of search engine, may be cookie cutter sites like "Fresh Store Builder". Do you have a successful website yourself? Could you actually come forward with the site so we can see if you have something working for you we could apply to our own website? Now that would be helpful.

    -Al

    PS
This search term now has my site ranked at #1. So it has moved from #5 since writing this article.

I am glad to hear you have made thousands.

With all respect, "Levi's Men's Coated Military Jacket for sale" is a long tail keyword which doesn't take much to rank. It shows #3 for me and is nowhere on the front page for the more searched term "Levi's Men's Coated Military Jacket".

I am not attacking you like you are attacking me, just offering my advice like I do to everyone on this forum. It seems like you are trying to bait me into an argument, but if you are really questioning Fresh Store Builder take a look at some of my members who are making money:

    http://www.freshmarketingforum.com/threads/some-nice-earnings-from-an-fsb-user.1575/

(it is a long thread with lots of people reporting different levels of earnings)

In terms of my sites I don't give out my niches - not that I am afraid of competition, but there are a lot of bitter people who like to Negative SEO me. But here is some earnings proof I posted the other day: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2552406#post18031785

What I am saying is this: if you don't offer some kind of value (good content, comprehensive reviews, unique videos etc. etc.), Google will always find you out - maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but definitely in a future update.

That is my golden rule and what I teach all my members. SEO begins with your visitors. You have to offer value in some way otherwise people won't like your site, they won't use it, they won't share it, they won't recommend to their friends and they won't link to it.

Hey "Noticed", thank you fir the tips for adding the buy it now buttons to my existing "View Sale" graphic. Since doing so my click through rate has increased 100%, it honestly has doubled! Thank you.

MoneyGenerator, thank you for the kind words. A tweak here and a tweak there is the best part. Its what makes this work so exciting! :)

This is just the low before the storm. Watch your click throughs to go way up in late October - November and into the holiday season before another drop off. Keep working and watch it rise, you'll see.
