I want to know What's Google penguin and how can we avoid black hat techniques? As in what's the keyword density and other tactics used for effective SEO not violating the Penguin algorithm?
Google Penguin is latest updates in Google algorithms for reducing spamming and provides most relevant search results for Internet users. The aim of this updates is removed low quality website with first page search results with targeting competitive keywords.
Hi i am deepak from india As usual, Google’s fight against web spamming has resulted in the unprecedented crash of established websites from their previously held rankings.
I think if most of your SEO practices focus on making the website more enjoyable, and creating an intuitive online experience. The update shouldn't be a problem.
Excellent question Robert! I'm actually about to publish a book on the subject (Practice Safe SEO: A Newbies' Guide to Penguin Friendly Search Engine Optimization) and recommend you check it out (will post an update when it's available) to understand the biggest difference between black hat and white hat strategies, so you know what could backfire on you and why. Actually, Penguin is the second algorithm update changing the world of internet marketing. Last year, Panda was released to prioritize websites in search results that were measured as valuable based on human response. In a nutshell, websites with not only more traffic but a lower bounce rate prove to be higher quality. So yes, your websites should be focused on humans- not search engines. Engaging your audience is the only way to be truly successful with SEO or any form of internet marketing. Now Penguin seems to be focused especially on link building strategies, and it's caused a lot of confusion among SEO-ers of all levels and hat colors. This update simply enforces what's always existed as the Google Webmaster Quality Guidelines; and if you want to know how to do SEO the right way that is the best place to look for information. I'm also going to add that true black hat SEO is not for humans. Strategies like cloaking are designed to trick search engines for higher ranking of a website that usually autodirects to an affiliate link. It's deceptive, but it works for some. The Google engineers are working hard to change that though. But there's other things that some might consider silver hat or gray hat. The most common example is content spinning- my arch enemy. Whether you spin content manually or use software, the end results are neither quality or unique. Ever. True quality content is 100% original and designed to inform, entertain, educate, and in every possible way engaqe a human audience. That's what you need for a successful and profitable website to begin with. However, working with a budget (as most startups do) it can take some time to see a return on an internet marketing budget. There's a combination of ways to get brand exposure sooner, including PPC and social media. Building quality backlinks is important for to improve your own PR, but that must be done carefully and naturally because (due to search engine algorithm changes) aggressive link building can backfire. If i had to fit it all into a nutshell, I would simply say to understand all SEO strategies and their purpose or goals, then use common sense to determine which strategies you should use- and which to avoid.
Certainly! (When it exists.) I didn't intend that post to be promotional, the book will not be finished for another week or 3, but details will be posted on PracticeSafeSEO.com so feel free to bookmark that site!
