Hi Guys I read on many blogs that Youtube is now 2nd largest search engine. Also, Youtube videos are very often found on top of the Google result pages. But even so, there is no much of a buzz regarding Youtube SEO. And general information on this topic are very poor. I found one good article regarding this subject that I want to share with you http://www.dailyblogtips.com/6-powerful-youtube-seo-tips-that-no-one-talks-about/. But unfortunately I couldn't find any SEO tools for Youtube. This is strange as there are so many of these tools for general SEO. Please share links to useful Youtube SEO articles and tools!
Well YouTube sent me 276 unique visitors last month http://www.matthewwoodward.co.uk/income-report/monthly-income-growth-traffic-report-august-2012/ I think the best way to get the most out of YouTube is to rank the video in the SERPS.
From my knowledge, here are some tips to rank youtube videos: Choosing less competitive keywords, using keyword as video name, creating username as the keyword, repeating keywords in the description as more as you can, using keywords in inverted commas (so that the keywords remain unchanged), Repeating keywords in title upto two times, using fake views from vagex, enhance views & finally getting backlinks from any place possible, meta keyword backlinks are preferred. Thats all I can currently remember.
I guess you should rely on the stats shown by your YouTube channel and your site's stats - if you receive YouTube-referred visits.
One tip - If you are uploading a video about 'dog training for puppies' then the file name of the video should be something like dog_training_for_puppies.avi or something similar. MOV1234.avi is not going to be meaningful.
Does having a youtube channel help with links? Is it possible to embed a link in the video back to your site as a backlink or are they nofollow?
