I hope that they are similar way. Google visited your site once or many is known as indexing. Without indexing, there is no way of cache.

When Google store the information about site(page) is called Indexing. Caching is way to manage the stored data in such a way so that searching become faster then before.

Indexing means your web page is present in search engine database, which you can find whether your website is indexed or not, here is the syntax: site:your-domain-name, and cache is representing the current current version of site, which is being crawled recently..

Cache means search engine spider come to site and found the updates and Index means, your site information is stored in database.

Cache : When search engine bot or crawler come to your page or found any update on site, this process is Cache.
Indexing : After reading the updated element it stores those new elements in Search Engine's database. This restoration process is Indexing. Indexing is a process to make a webpage searchable on search engine.

The difference between cache & indexing is very simple.

Indexing:- Site indexing means that the site information is stored in google database.

    Cache:-
Cache means when a crawler or google bot comes to the site & look the information which is present on the site.

A site firstly get cached then indexed. A normal funda works behind on this , when you read something you get an idea about that topic then you store that information(data) in your mind.

Xicom(xicom.biz) have offshore php developers for php web application development.

    Hi

I want to tell you the basic different in a single line that is indexing is the one time activity done by Google and caching is the repetitive activity.

    Hope you understand.

Indexing- Google visited your website and has added you to its database..

Caching- Google took a snapshot of your website when it last visited and stored the data in case your website went down or if there are some any other issues.
