    Hi,

I would like to edit this banner by simply changing the website displayed on it.

How do I go about doing it? What banner software is recommended for this simple task?

I have also become a reseller for the product so I have the right to use this banner. My website is http://www.UbermanPower.com

And what If he cannot afford it?

Photoshop is a great tool, but it costs money (many people seem to forget that  ). There are, however, free alternatives.

If you don't have PS (or don't want to shell out $500), I suggest you use GIMP. It's free and is almost as powerful as PS

I thinks picasa software would be the best. Once you use it will never be uninstalled. It is also having the great features while editing any of the image you can change it of any types.

Have you even tried Photoshop or Gimp? I love Picasa for taking out red eye and doing basic light balancing, cropping stuff but for the kind of task the OP wants to do I'd never use it.

What if there is no .psd?
What if he is not the owner of the picture? What if the owner doesn't want to give the .psd? Should he hack his website/pc?
What if he doesn't have Photoshop cs5?

You don't need a .psd for changing those simple text.
The majority of graphics editor / program can done that simple task.

But I'm not quite sure if you can edit it without any permission from the owner,
I'll highly suggest you to design your own banner or pay someone to create it.

You can do the simple things done in photoshop or try gimp its open source and you don't need to buy it for this small work.

Let's say, he (assuming that he/she is a he) doesn't have Photoshop.

Should he really buy it, just to edit it? Or download the 30 day trial?

    Back up your responses people!

    Again: WHY?

Why not ask some people here on DP? I bet there are a few that are willing to do such a simple task for free.
Or he could ask for instructions.

This is such a simple task, no need to pay $5 for it...

in my opinion, if he doesn't have photoshop yet he could buy one, and it's not a loss because he can still use it for future projects. well I'm just saying, it's a suggestion and it's still up to him if he will take my advice ^_^

So what you are saying: in case he should ever again cut out and insert something to a picture, he should buy a tool for $500, instead of using one of the many free ones (like GIMP)?

Seems to me like a very, very bad investment...
