Hi, I don't like to show my personal info in my domains... I have a bunch of questions:

    a) Should I lie about my personal info when i register a domain? What is the problem doing that if I suceed registering that domain?

    b) If I pay for extra "WHOIS Privacy" service, can people know my personal information despite of having this service active?

    Thanks in advance.

You should never lie about the personal info when registering a domain. As for paying extra for that WHOIS Privacy services, the deatils that come up on WHOIS look ups then are those of the place where you bought the domain from, and/or notes about privacy, if I remember correctly.

Don't lie with WHOIS information -- you'll get your domain revoked. As for WHOIS Privacy, you might want to take a look at DNOA.org, as that is what I use for my domain privacy and it's only $6.95 a year for all of my domains.

If you are buying a number of domains, GoDaddy (used to, probably still does) offer free privacy when you buy three or more domains at once.

    They go through domainsbyproxy.com.

    No need to.

Setup a company "can be legal or imaginary, legal is better" and use it instead of your name.

For the address, you can use your "friend's business" and make sure he doesn't remember you, just incase.

    Peace,

There are _always_ ways to find out your personal information - having a private registration will protect you from the general public's eyes, but that's about all.

Well, if someone reports the WHOIS listing as invalid, they can revoke (take) your domain.
