I am glad you find it comical that the ODP posts misinformation that could potentially cause a site not to get listed. What's good for the goose, should be good for the gander, but no, the gander just laughs about it and claims nothing is wrong. Though I do agree, much of the ODP is old rubbish. However, I must add, that I am pretty sure this actual topic has not been covered a whole lot....well, I guess the credibility and integrity of the ODP has, and yeah, not much left these days is there...
Not only in the countries you named I guess it applies for most European countries but I can tell it's required in Germany too
all tips are being tried by me.. but still no results.... i think there is a kinda deficiency in my site..... i will definitely check for the errors.....
Read this and pay attention: You have a 3 in 1000 chance of your site getting listed. No matter how good it is, no matter what you submit. That is the average so if you submit and get listed great, you are one of the 3 in 1000. If you don't then you will NEVER EVER get that site listed because its a game you cannot win. If you submit a second time, you are banned. Zero chance of a listing. So my question is why do you care? Why do you want to be listed? Have you not read the threads that tell you why you should not have a listing and why it doesn't matter? I can't point you to those threads because someone here things that is thread hijacking. Go find them yourself it's too late, if you find an error and resubmit you are banned. It's over, you won't ever get that site listed.
I got the information first hand from an active DMOZ Editor. I am trying to get the number of active editors. Stay tuned. Sunshine is a great disinfectant 40% of people who take an unscheduled day off from work do it on a Monday or a Friday
Clearly that editor is inventing information, if a statistic like that existed I would know about it. With the amount of crap you post here you clearly need to spend more time outside.
Yes of course you would know it because you are all knowing. So if you don't know it, then it can't be known. Here is what I do know, the editor I am talking with can do simple math. If you are an editor, you can do the same. Let me help you, take the number of submissions during a period of time and then divide them by the number of new listings on DMOZ during that same period of time. That was easy huh? Surprised you didn't know that Further, if DMOZ had anything positive or credible to say about their website that would say it. The fact that their active editor base is less than 1000 people and the sites that they add that have value (vs. what gets paid for) is slim to none. DMOZ trying to make a statement about their value is like Microsoft telling everyone today about the value of MSDOS 3.1
Not so fast there! - Thousands of websites are added every month, though I'm not sure that's a statistic that's available. - Thousands of websites are removed every month - they're dead or otherwise unlistable. I don't know that statistic either. You're probably looking at the net additions (the difference between those two). If you're an editor, it's probably possible to difference the total greens for consecutive months and come up with some sort of figure for the listing suggestions in a month. Don't forget to discount the reds and purples though or that some folks keep suggesting the same site every month/year/whatever in the belief that this will make them more prominent. It does, but how would you treat these in the stats? In any event, there must be around 400-500 million websites that we haven't yet evaluated. These are all just as potentially listable as the ones that are suggested by anxious website owners. It's gonna take a while.
Well the good news is that there are 141,779,580 domains across the .COM, .NET, .ORG, .INFO, .BIZ, and .US top level domains so you probably don't have as much work as you think, take the weekend off!
Hahaha I replied to you in spanish that the count of domains in those TLDs represent the lions share of the domains but a moderator deleted it and gave me an infraction for it because this is an English only forum. The moderator must be an ODP editor.
I'm pretty confident the moderator in question has no interest in the ODP. Posts are required to be in English and that rule isn't relaxed for anyone. Your post will have been reported and if you are wanting to lash out then perhaps you might be better to target the person who made the report - after you've been to your anger management class.
