I've just signed up for about £13 a month. This company says they have 2.5 million people who have asked to receive mail. They say it's not spamming. I wonder if

    A) am I getting value for money? Can I get better marketing of this type for less

B)If any of you guys have much sucess marketing this way?

A few months ago someone offered me to send my email to 50 million users across US and Canada for $4000. I did not accept his offer because he did not want to use an escrow and I also think that spam doesn't work.

Spam rarely ever works. People are now smart enough to promptly delete such stuff.

Are you kidding me? Spam is cheap and effective. The ROI(return on investment) is ENORMOUS. You spend so little and get so much. Personally, I prefer spamming while staying within the law. Find loopholes or creative ways to spam and do it that way.

If spam was expensive then I could see it being useless, but that is not the case. You are missing out my friend.

With Yahoo mail I get "future spam" emailed sent to a future address that stays on top of my email list until I delete it or the date passes. I got one today for 2037

13/mth for unlimited emails or just one email?

I would have asked myself, If I owned a list (or multiple lists) of 2.5m subscribers, would I give access to my list for 13/mth? hmmm...no way.

Personally I hate spams, I would not want to try it myself.

I've seen a few Google ads on this site for mass email services.

Some have had really good prices and I've wondered the same thing about whether or not it was worth it or not.

My main concern is that I highly doubt these people "want" to receive emails. They most likely forgot to uncheck the box that says "do you want to receive emails." ;)

What company is it? Personally I wouldn't try it, I don't adhere to spam, when I get it I don't even look at it.

I would put your money somewhere more worthwhile, pay for advertising on a forum or in an ezine.
