Is it just backlink submission or do we have another technique to increase PR of a web.

There are so many methods to increase the Google PR
    1. Unique Content
    2. Proper on page optimization
    3. Quality back links :- Forum posting, directory submission, article submission, blog commenting, social bookmarking, theme based one way links.
    4. User friendly Navigation
    5. Create many pages of your site.

I once had a website that jumped from a PR of 0 to a PR of 4 within a couple of months by just adding extremely high quality backlinks. You have to be careful with this though because Google has started to really hammer some of the link and blog networks that usually provide these links. Still, in my experience, there's no faster way to get a quick PR boost.

Another thing you may want to try is high-quality directory submissions. *DISCLAIMER: I HAVE NOT TRIED THIS MYSELF, BUT I HAVE SEEN THIS METHOD DISCUSSED ON OTHER FORUMS, SO YOU MAY WANT TO GIVE IT A SHOT. JUST KNOW THAT I HAVEN'T DONE THIS MYSELF". Try getting listed in directories like DMOZ or Yahoo!. This is easier said than done, however, Yahoo! cost $300 to get listed for the year, and DMOZ only lists your site after undergoing a lengthy and extensive review process (although there are articles online that supposedly show you how to make this process easier). There are other high-quality directories that I don't know off the top of my head, but getting listed in them should help to increase your PR (theoretically at least). Keep in mind, however, that getting listed in some directories can be quite expensive (as mentioned earlier with Yahoo!).

    Hope this info helps.

2 things are most important: quality content and backlink.
    Do the following:
    1. Find the main keywords in your niche
    2. Write long articles supporting these keywords (1000 words or more)
    3. Build backlinks, use high PR resources to link back + social media

You're on the wrong section of the forum, and by the way set your priorities right, I don't think you need to bother about PR.. You have much work to do before even thinking about ti and when you're finished then you'll realize you don't need to care about it at all.

Agreed. High PR website is useless without quality content. Finding a backlink is easy since u can find million of high PR website list in this forum or another forum but if u dont have quality content or unique content then ur website PR will drop fast...just like mine :D

The sooner people get over page rank the better of they will be. I know many of you jump into this thinking you are going to get rich selling links and ultimately your goal is to sell links but that's not the way to go. get over PR and start building real sites and focusing out SERP's. You will be better in the long run...

If you want higher PR then links from different site are obvious and only do-follow links will increase your PR.

The "am" is not needed.... " I agree with you" would be the correct way of saying it...
