which is the most beneficial option in adwords? 1. Manual bidding setting (manually set my bids for clicks ) OR 2. Automatic bidding (i.e. AdWords will set my bids to help maximise clicks within my target budget CPC bid limit )

Its depend upon your knowledge of keywords. If you have new keywords on which you have no idea of competition, then use automatic bidding for some time and you can switch to manual for better control.

I suggest you to go with Automatic Biding first which will give chances broad visibility to all your keywords then later after understanding of bidding for the keywords, you can switch to Manual Bidding

There are currently three main categories of keyword bidding:

    • Focus on clicks
    • Focus on conversions
    • Focus on impressions

Thanks for replying, actually I have done the same thing set as automatic and per day budget is also set. Its approx. a week now and I have noticed that in some of the days my cost was more than my per day budget which I guess should not be.....and I am still not able to get an idea how Google calculates cost for per click ?

You might like going through How actual CPC costs are calculated to get a better idea..

Anyway for sometime its hit and trail so keep making changes and see what works for you.... Manual bidding is ideal when you know you are at constant at your pace.. You might increase the bid to see whether it gets u better clicks /impressions or decrease it a bit to see how it effects your ROI
