So the seven day waiting time is finally over and I can post a thread in this forum. So here it goes. I'm looking for constructice criticism for my personal blog, which can be found here: http://blog.rihardsonline.com/

I'd also like to hear your thoughts on whether I should add any specific WordPress plugins?

The general over all design is okay.. wasn't able to tell what the blog was generally actually about tho..

 

It's a personal blog, so I post basically whatever is my mind, it has a strong point in webdesign and programming though, but I'm trying not to make it too dry.

 

bgcolor is too white i think . for Promoting Blog Sites sign up with all of these....

If I were you I would put some more colours to the header to make it outstand from the rest of the theme

 

Hmm well there are many beautiful women who also happen to be geeks. I'm sure I missed probably hundreds, but it's only a top 10 and only so many places on a top 10. But that is also why I invited other people to make their own top 10 list as well

when i said i didn't know what your blog was about.. that can be phrased better as "i don't know what the purpose of your blog is"

looks ok overall - but i'd add something more to the right panel. it's kinda plain and boring at the moment. maybe add some nice curvy boxes and some color to that area?

 

Yeah have been thinking about that area, since it's quite empty. Will probably add a section that list the last 10(20?) entries from the blog, plus have been thinking about using the place for google ads, but don't think there is any point in adding them yet anyway.

 

no im not saying that at all.. im saying you want us to review your blog, but first you need to tell us what are the goals you have for your blog.

If your goal is to produce the worlds greatest webpage and have more traffic than youtube and wiki combined, then your webpage has failed.

if your goal is produce a nice enough looking site to post random comments about your life, then you seem to be hitting the nail of the head.

 

My goal? Hmm. Well it's as I said, it's a blog about web design and entertainment, but not I don't plan for it become anywhere near as huge as either of those sites. But of course I also don't want it to be a ghost town. The plan is to post all sorts of interesting bits and pieces/articles/reviews as well, so that it's not just yet another one of those "My mood today: sad" blogs

 

In that case, it looks pretty good.
