Contest $35 Logo Design Contest - 72 Hours!

Hi everyone,

The logo is for a ecommerce store called "Stokes Ave". Stokes Ave (short for avenue) will be a site focused on selling electronics and fashion items such as clothes, watches, Blu-Rays, DVDs, etc.

The logo text right beneath logo should say "Where electronics, entertainment, and fashion meet"

Here are the specifications:

- The art must be 100% vector and resizable, so the final product MUST be high resolution and in the proper formats
- The logo has to be something that is highly brandable on flyers, T-Shirts, post cards, business cards, etc. Think Amazon or Best Buy.
- The color scheme is not too important. Whatever works, works. We will build site around the logos colors but feel free to use colors that please both genders because the site will cater to both sexes.
-Would like to see some street edged or urban themed logos since Avenue is another word for street.

I'm also looking for the logo to leave a subtle reminder that customers can save on the site. You can do this by somehow intertwining the last "s" in Stokes with "Ave" to spell out "Save" while at the same time keeping both words separate so that it's not obvious. I would like for it to be one of those kind of logos where upon second or third glance, you may get the meaning behind it or that it even has a double meaning.

Think of the Amazon logo as an example, how the logo smirks at you and at the same time points from the letter "a" to "z" indicating that they sell everything that you can name under the alphabet. This i very subtly done.

And also think about the FedEx logo how there's an arrow in between the last E and the X indicating how fast their service is without really saying too much else.

These two examples are just some ideas. I'm not looking for you to copy the Amazon or FedEx logo for this site.

The contest will last approximately 72 hours weeks, though I reserve the right to cut it short if I find something I really like. All submissions must be posted to this thread. Makes it easier for me to respond to them.

I will leave feedback as they come in.

W/tagline and other color

 

It's always tough being the first person to submit to a contest but you have done such an amazing job with your examples (particulary the first one) and you followed instructions very carefully. I like your subtle use of the white slash connecting the last "s" to Ave to indicate "Save". It's not obvious at all and only noticeable to me since I know what to look for.

I preferably would like to see more color combinations and perhaps a street sign or element added to it as well if that makes sense.

Your logo is definitely in the running.

 

Not quite what I'm looking for Ben. Too simple. Even though I want something relatively simple, this was too simple for my tastes and you didn't follow instructions and spelled the name of the company wrong. It's "Stokes Ave" not "Stokes Aves"

 

Nice logo and attempt but not subtle enough for me. The dollar sign is not what I'm looking for. But good attempt.

 

I really like this one too and this is definitely in the running still. I don't know how I feel about the "S" being red and blending in with "Ave". I'm still deciding on this. I was looking for more subtleness. I would like to see more variations of you trying to make this part more of logo more subtle. And would like to see with and without the sign enclosure.

Here is my entry. It's got a little bit of streets look to it. Pink and black which gives it that feminine but still Manly color to it. It's also got a splatter that tries to connect the "s" to the "Ave" but without really connecting it. Let me know if I am close. 100% Vector logo.

I'm sorry that I missed this one. Good logo and start. Not sure that I like the "halo" around the A, but I like your attempt at the moment.
