Hello All, I have one website whose alexa ranking(India) is decreasing since last one month it was 19000 in july 3rd week and now it is 34000. although the traffic analysis from google analytics & awstats shows that the traffic is increasing I know alexa does not measure all data perfectly but still as per the traffic data I have it must be increasing and should have gone down from 19000 to somewhere around 18000 but it is not in India

In the mid time the Global Ranking was proper I mean it went to 2,60,000 from 2,90,000 but now it also went to 31,00,000

can any one tell me exact reason for the same or any other solution for it.

my website is www.salenoffers.com please let me know what can I do to regain the previous position.

    Alexa is obsolete

They only count traffic of clients, which have their toolbar installed.
Also, they only take account of the last 3 months

Do yourself a favour and don't worry about Alexa.

    Can happen..

Clients can easily block any tracking tool, so they are not 100% accurate.

As others have said here, Alexa should be taken with a grain of salt. What really matters is the number of visitors you've had to your website which you can tell by your Google Analytics and other metrics. I would focus on building your list, if you're not doing that already and on starting a blog and using it to drive high quality traffic to your website. You can learn more about the advantages of content marketing and how to employ it in these two websites:

    Hope that helps :)

I try to not base my results on Alexa.

I have to stop thinking it measures the traffic.

Who really has their toolbar installed on their browser? I don't and not many I know of.

So ALEXA is inaccurate for majority of your visitors.

you can install alexa toolbar and also ask your visitor to download it ... then your alexa ranking would increase :)

Thanks but making a user download the toolbar is not practically possible for my site.
Any other solution?? I tried my hands on Alexa Widget today and hoping for chance to improve a bit. I have added Hidden Alexa widget. will that work?

Your onpage trackers are the ones you should be woried about with your website, not Alexa. Alexa is good to check on other websites, but you own tracking gives you the actual results.
