Lots of webmaster said that when Google returns site-links for a search query, Google will then follow with six additional search listings - making for a total of seven search results. There have been times when Google would show less or more search results, but never this consist.
I doubt if it is true. When I do a search for my different sites there are always more than 7 results.
Good advice. Always one must make sure that they are not getting personalized results. I used to exult on my sites riding high on SERPs until someone knocked me to my senses about teaching me about personalized results.

It is true that google showing 7 results in google SERP. When you are going to search for some popular search term related to brand or company name you see 7 results in SERP. Search the following keyword "PC tools", "pictures of cats" you can see 7 results.
