let me think one good thing about bush, not long left to serve in office

you don't give people respect because of the office they hold, you give it to them because they have earned it

I can think of quite a few good things to say.

But firstly: At least he's not doing Clintonian stuff like screwing around on his wife and kids in the WHITE HOUSE by sexually harrassing a young female intern by having her give him a blowjob and then lying to us about it under oath!

Clinton was OK in some ways but he really always made me  and wonder how could he be so stupid and let Bin Laden walk etc etc.

But more importantly I was glad to see the mass graves uncovered in Iraq where about 300,000 children, women and men had dissapeared possibly forever until the US went in and uncovered this.

Let me ask u question. Would u rather have a president that cares for the american people , freedom and democracy and sleeps around with 2000 women and keeps us out of wars that only the military industrial complex wants(example kennedy and vietnam) or would u rather have a president like bush who is a complete puppet of the system and throws our soldiers to those maniacs in iraq that doesnt cheat on his wife.

I dont know about you but to me THIS IS A NO BRAINER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    a) how many people have died in this war?

    b) how many people would have saddam killed?

    c) if it was right to invade Iraq, would it have been wrong not to invade?

3000 lives? 3000 people probably died in the first few days.

Why is it acceptable to care about the death of people based on their nationality? Is this what being human is about?

You might be able to 'find something positive' from this war because, hey it hasn't affected you at all! What about the people who are on the receiving end of the war?

Are you seriously saying you think Bush has done a good job but cant actually think of any other policies to point out apart from starting a war?

Why dont you be honest and reveal the real reason for approving of bush: Religion.

It wasn't about would I rather have slick willy and Monica doin their version of the "Got Milk?" commercial VS GWB playin soldiers.

Thats one thing positive for GWB...thats all.

A)Over 3000 Americans soldiers have died, and I am not sure how many Iraqis.
b)That is a good question for a fortune teller. No one can say for sure. If you haven't already I would look up all the crimes he had committed against others that he stood trial for. He was very brutal, and my guess is he would have handed Iraq over to another murderous dictator at the end of his reign.
c)I will be honest here that I don't know how to answer this question. My thread was just for people to post a good thing about President Bush to counteract the negativity. I am happy about getting Saddam out of power, I am not happy about all the suffering in Iraq. I am just trying to find some positivity in an otherwise bleak situation. One thing that set me off is that I saw on another thread someone saying our soldiers have died for nothing. That made me really sad for the loved ones of our soldiers, that is very hurtful to think someone you love died for nothing. So, it started me thinking about what could be considered positive coming from all this, and I thought of Saddam. So because of Saddam no one can truthfully say they died for nothing. Was Saddam and all of his victims worth 3000 of our soldiers? Maybe not. But at least no one can tell me they died for nothing.

Wow, you are extremely quick to jump to conclusions without the need for facts. You say I am approving Bush because of religion and yet I am not even Christian?
    Huh?

Saddam was a very bad man and no doubt responsible for thousands of deaths but the current rate of dead Iraqis (the confirmed ones) is running around the 3,200 a month figure. And that is consistent month-on-month.

Are more dying now or under Saddams reign?

That's a tough one to answer but I bet most Iraqis are wishing for the good old days.

As the saying goes "Better the devil you know" :D

If only I had a dollar for every time I saw someone say saddam was bad, but...

As if there is some higher moral equivalence of comparison to diminish the deaths of half a million people in shredders, acid baths, thrown off buildings, raped, murdered and buried in mass graves.

On this day of Thanksgiving, I can honestly say I'm thankful that people who have no clue can only express their lack of intelligence on a forum, where no one can be harmed because of it.

Happy Thanksgiving, AGS and Mistermix :D

Well, Ive read your thread and assume you think well of Mr Bush but the only 'good' policy you can think of is starting the Iraq war. Why do you really support him? Spill the beans.

And you mentioned it is hurtful to say people have died in this war for no reason, you are right it is hurtful. Its also true.

If the aim of the game is to 'remove saddam' then it would best be done by an assasination. Hundreds of thousands of people have died and it may be easy for you to 'find some positive' from this war.

But the fact is that this war was a mistake. People have died for no reason. Do you know how much good can be done by 150,000 soldiers, 5trillion dollars and 5 years?

That 600,000 number is inaccurate, yay propaganda! The highest number before that was 50,000.

Yes, because the 600,000 number was

"1) This number was obtained, not by counting bodies, but by surveying Iraqi households. How this is supposed to get an accurate death count is a mystery to me.

    2) No other organization; the UN, the Iraqi Health Ministry, Iraqi Body Count, has a death toll anywhere near this high. No other group puts the death count above 60,000." - snopes

Facts don't matter to them. They don't care about Iraqis, they don't care about soldiers. There's only one group they never complain about...the terrorists causing the problems.
