Hey guys, do you agree with me that one of the most difficult thing in using Joomla is finding the content to edit? When I started with Joomla, it make me crazy because I can't know the content I want to change is module, menu or article. It wastes too much time to find the right place. And until now, I find a great extension to solve this problem. I'm not sure is you know it or not but I think there are many Joomla newbies like me will need it It's JSN PowerAdmin. It's totally free and has many votes in Joomla extension directory. With the perfect search tool and drag-n-drop function, I'm sure that you can save much time on your work. You should watch the quick tour video to see all features. If you have better extension, please share here I really need tool to control Joomla easier.
I don't think there is such a extension out there. Because: Joomla content can be sorted in 4 parts: a. Menus, edited and administrated in menu manager b. content, managed by article manager and categories c. modules/extensions/components, these are controlled by different modules/plugins and components, and the data is not even in the same datasheet with Joomla core content manager d. template. When the template is coded, some image/text content should be hardcoded in it. What I suggest is, to use debug tool bars in browsers, to find out where the actual content is. For instance, if you want to edit the content in a module, add ?tp=1 in the end of the url to check the module position, and in the module manager, to sort by position to get the right module. For articles, turn off SH404 for SEF and find out the article ID directly so you can find the article in the article manager. For component content (such as K2), find the right item ID after shut down SH404 and you can find them easily as well. Even without IDs, you can find out the items by searching the names. So, I do not think such a extension is needed at all. Because when you become familiar with how Joomla works, you will feel it has been good enough.
Oh thank you for your reply. But I found some really amazing extensions that help you to use Joomla easier. I will write an article to share my experience about them.
