    Hi

    Please help me clarify things.
If I have a domain.com that is already ranking is it a good idea to have domain.net that is pointing to the contents of domain.com?

    Please help.

    Thanks :)

You can set a 301 redirect from .net domain pointing to .com, which won't incur a duplicate content penalty.

Which hosting provider have you chosen? In many of those you are given the option of doing a 301 redirect.

Nice question. Domain aliasing is having 2 or more domains on one site. In order to avoid duplicate site use a 301 redirect for one of the site.

i.e. domain.net must be pointed to domain.com. Choose only one domain.

I'll give you one sample sites thats been doing these
If you type http://www.snowpatrol.net you will be redirected to http://www.snowpatrol.com.
If you will look on their SERP rankings their still #1 for their keywords

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=snow+patrol&spell=1
    http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=snow+patrol&fr=yfp-t-501&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8

    I hope that will help.
