I think it would be useful to know what is the most popular method for promoting Amazon - especially from those who are actively making an income.

    Vote away :)

Can you give me a example of your youtube videos? I was promoting with youtube only and making $15-$18 a day with 300 direct linking product videos. But then the entire account was deleted. youtube does not allow it. Have you a found a way in which they do allow or have suggestions? Are you linking to Amazon or your website? What is the link to your channel?

    Thanks,
    -Al

    Hi freshdevelopment

I have been tinkering with the Amazon UK affiliate program for 14 months and I'm now happy with the way in which I approach the affiliate marketplace.

    Checklist

    1. Choose products from the technology niche between £50 - £350.
    2. Products are relatively new or have a low but positive feedback score.
    3. Competition is low or even has limited data using the free Google keyword tool.
    4. I create a new blog for each product review using via Wordpress.com.
    5. Blog articles are a minimum of 300 words and have affiliate links built in to the main keyword and picture
    6. Once uploaded I use pingler and feed burner for faster indexing within 72 hours.
    7. Check keyword phrase after 3 days to see if it's reached the first page on Google

There are some people who seem to think that, you need to use paid methods or special tricks to earn decent money through affiliation and that is just not true. It's all about experience and a fair bit of trial and error, to see what works and what doesn't. I now enjoy commissions in excess of £300 a month with Amazon and over £500 with them combined, so even although it's not life changing amounts, it's a healthy amount and I'm always looking for ways to increase my revenues.

    Mark :)

Very very useful affiliate marketing concept when you name the big giant amazon! many people make thousand $$ only by promoting amazon products.

I think the marketplace has got tougher in the last couple of years, as there are more affiliates promoting products than ever before and less people are buying stuff, so it's not easy but there are still little golden nuggets dotted around the Amazon marketplace.

    Nice feedback guys

@shmeeko69 that is a nice and simple method, and your getting a decent bit of income. Sometimes it is that simple and just offering good quality content makes the difference. It is also essential to stick at whatever you do, learn from it and improve.

Too many people try one method and give up after a week. Try another method and give up... ad infinitum

    Hi freshdevelopment

That's exactly right and people forget that Rome wasn't built in a day and it takes a bit of time trying to find a method that works for them and eventually to gets sales. I have been an Amazon affiliate for 14 months and if I looked at my affiliate account back then, it wouldn't make for impressive viewing.

I try to find products on amazon that are not promoted by a lot of affiliates. The less competition, the better.

Exactly, why would you want to promote stuff that every man and his dog is involved with, as the chances of arriving at page one on Google would be very slim and that would just be wasting your time.

Interesting.. the most popular option is a review blog, even though you only get the 24 hour cookie as apposed to the 90 day cookie with a store format.

Nobody doing an App or PPC - I am not suprised about PPC since Amazon force you to use a landing page and have a lot of other restrictions.

Well, with my main review site I've pulled $10 this month, but it's only been a few months of me seriously trying hard to do it. I made more with adsense and other cpm/cpc ads

I target easy-to-rank products. As a result, I can typically rank on page one within a day for most of my product reviews. Since I provide quality content, I also get my fair share of referral traffic and repeat traffic in addition to organic search traffic.

Yeah. You know, I just went back and re-read my post. It came out way wrong. What I meant was that I agreed with the post that I quoted. Stay away from products that everyone else is promoting. It's much easier to go where others aren't.
