MItt Romney : "Don't vote for Obama because he has not visited Israel"

I've attempted to elaborate on that statement in a following post:

This is what he is asking, describe your legitimate reasons for support of Isreal. To clarify, He means beside you being a member of Israel fifth column in USA and support of Israel being your patriatic duty.

Thank you, . . many of the respondents to these types of questions seem to be under the impression that citizens of other countries share all of their homegrown sentiments. I try to keep an open mind when asking these types of questions but so far most of the answers have been inadequate.

 

They are not stupid but they know that logically they cannot defend support of Israel being in the interest of USA and that is the reason they do everythong to avoid answering the question.

 

Actually, I don't. I think I understood your post perfectly. You claimed my conclusion indicates I have a vivid imagination. If you are going to make such a claim, you should be prepared to back it up.

So, I correctly identified what "it" is, and I correctly identified what you meant by "widespread support", leaving only the so-called "blatant propaganda" and it's source as a lingering mystery, which you now declare you will not clarify. It doesnt really leave you much room to complain if the rest of us speculate as to what you meant by "blatant propaganda". In that spirit, I'll stick with the idea you were referring to some vast zionist/jewish conspiracy. Correct me, or don't. I don't really care.

I do appreciate you appending the words "and all other associated elements" to your statement, which at least allows for some other possibility as to why Americans support Israel. Of course by adding it, you tacitly admit that without those words, your statement left only two possible reasons an American might support Israel. Religious zealotry or blatant propaganda. This is the point I made in the first place.

Even now, your statement remains dismissive of all other obvious reasons Americans might support Israel by lumping them into a single anonymous summary statement. "All other associated elements" could include anti-Muslim sentiment, racist anti-Arab sentiment, cosmic radiation, and the gravitational effect of near earth objects. Oh, and other less likely items like shared cultural values of Democracy, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc.

Anyway, I'll leave you alone. You sound like an educated guy and getting caught first making such a stupid statement and then desperately trying to change the topic to defend it has got to be extremely embarassing for you. Perhaps Mikael can cheer you up with a good tale of how the Islamic caliphate will soon destroy the Jews and all of western civilization. Perhaps Pladecalvo can put a smile on your face by reinforcing your belief that any support for Israel is only the product of ignorance or lies. You guys deserve each other.
