Guys, the topic of my site relates to cars and Ebay.com's adsense ads keep appearing. I am trying to filter out all the cheaper ads and keep the ones that I think are priced better. Does anyone know if Ebay's ads are priced well? They appear for a lot of terms and I am not sure if I should have them on my site. Thanks. Francisco
This filter is for filtering "competitor's" ads not low paying ads. And you cannot tell which ad is low paying and which is not. Its all adsense inside.
For the love of God I am sick of this "block low paying ads". Why do you think AdSense would show ads that pay less than some other ads? They wouldn't, because then Google also earns less. That's why this whole adsblacklist.com site is a POS as well.
Have I missed something here? Being new I don't block anything and I'm reasonably happy with what ads are appearing on my sites, but some ads are definitely lower paid than others, I'm sure. I've had clicks (you can see single clicks when you only get a few ) that have paid $1.80 and others that have paid $0.03.
On the other hand, ads are also served depending on their expected CTR. This means that an low-priced ad with high CTR can appear above a high-priced ad with a low CTR. Blocking the lower priced ad therefore might increase your CPC, possibly at the expense of CTR. Cryo.
I block ebay ads. For instance, if your website is about "saving souls" then you don't want ebay ads "Save on souls today" - know what I mean? Block ebay, by all means. If your website is about cameras, then the ebay "Save on cameras today" is appropriate, and you should let the advertisers bid and sort it out amongst themselves.
I agree on the fact that this is a "competitive filter list", and I am very happy that as a user of adword, I can advertise my website very cheap, without been "filtered" because I don't have lot of money. BUT there are Made For Adsense sites out there, and they are nothing less than crap which have no value to the user, webmaster, and advertiser. Filtering these website is not just to gain more money, it's about getting rid of them. So until Google is going to do something about it (I recently saw a post about it on this forum), adblacklist can be useless to ones, but also can be VERY useful to others (my english may not be very good, but I hope this post was understandable)
Why doesn't Mr. Arrogance Himself come down to our level and impart his wisdom to us? There are many people who think AdSense is showing low paying ads when they could show higher paying ads. The whole point of adsblacklist.com is to weed out those ads. But then I ask you: Why would AdSense show those low paying ads when they could make more money THEMSELVES if they showed the higher paying ads that are supposedly available? That's right, they wouldn't. They are showing the ads that they think will make you the most money. So don't think you could "help them make more money" by blocking those ads.
I don't agree. My site seems to attracts two topics of revelant ads, one is very high paying ($0.5-$1.2) a click and the other type is about $.2-$.3 a click. By trying to eliminate some of those lower paying ads, I am hoping to be left with the higher paying topic of revelant ads.
and by the way, i think google tries to serve the most revelant ads and not the highest paying ads. I am trying to experiment and get higher paying ads instead of most revelant ones.
A few people here are missing out an important piece of information. Many of ebay's ads on Adsense are spam. I block all spammy advertisers especially if they are as widespread as ebay's are. But the real important factor is that ebay is not treated the same as every other adwords users. They are probably googles biggest spender and they are rewarded by being able to bid on millions of keywords at knockdown prices. So the argument that google 'always' displays the highest paying ads is not relevent is cases like ebay. Ebay might bid 5cents for a word when everybody else is bidding 10cents, but google knows ebay is willing to spent 100 times more per day than most other bidders so it makes sense to show ebay ads. So google makes more money by letting ebay bid lower. Obviously I can't be 100% certain about this but from they types of ads displayed by ebay on my sites I am pretty sure. The wholesale pricing of adwords has been confirmed by a few big bloggers too.
Take a look at this web site: AdsBlackList.com It allows you to build filter lists based on social ranking for keywords You get to choose what to filter: low paying sites, PPC spam sites, or both. By the way, ebay is in the "low paying" list
Those ebay ads are worse than any MFA site ads. Really. Because at least with a MFA ad, even though you're sent to a skimpy one-page landing page, there might be a bit of relevent text and related ads. But ebay's ads have nothing to do with anything. it IS the worst kind of spam.
i'm not using the filter, i used it once, and after that i had only low-paid clicks, then i removed it, and now it is resonable
By doing that you are blocking less relevant ads, not lower paying ads. It should be obvious that my assumption is for situations where all else is equal, meaning all ads are relevant. Then again, how would you know how much a certain ad pays?
