This is probably the best thing you can do for that directory since you are definitely not a good will ambassador for that business. Does the use of US in your sentence means that you are representing joeant, or are you still sticking with the story about I am volunteer but I am one of the founder, I don't get paid but it is a business, the submission are not reviewed by volunteers, but the person who does the reviews does not get paid, we have email but we don't know what we do with it and no matter what, we like to keep the money.
"Hugo" has been working the webmaster forums for 4 years, claiming he doesn't get paid. LOL I know I wouldn't be here if I didn't get paid
I'm the owner of JoeAnt.com. Instead of repeating the answers that Hbird64 has already answered correctly, what else would you guys like to know about JoeAnt.com? I understand some of you have had bad experiences with us. Let me know in detail why you feel this way (What site of yours did we decline?) and I'll answer you honestly. If this turns into an argument, I'll take no part in this thread. It's impossible for us to make everyone happy, but with your sincere questions, maybe we can improve those relations. Regarding the RipOffReport; I believe in that site and its founder, Ed Magedson. It has protected me countless times from letting the wrong moving companies advertise on one of my former sites - TopMovingCompanies.com. TopMovingCompanies.com is the only moving directory that was created prior to 1999 that is not on either RipOffReport.com or MovingScam.com. I no longer own the site, but because of my due diligence, that site saved thousands from being scammed by rogue movers. If you're thinking about moving, always check RipOffReport.com and MovingScam.com before you do! Regarding the complaint about JoeAnt.com filed under Multi-Level Marketing(???)...Is there anyone here that really thinks we accept money knowing we're going to decline them? We've been accepting Speed-Pass submissions for 3+ Years and this is the only complaint. It was such a ridiculous claim that I didn't expect anyone to believe it. I guess I was wrong.
Thank you for writing the first intelligent response in regard to your directory. Obviously you have a business sense that other people who were trying to represent your company lack. It is my opinion that any business should try to be open and honest about it's procedures and dealing with the customers and that was the start of discussion to clarify for all of us, what procedures joeant has for dealing with customer submissions and eventual complains about not being accepted. Therefore, I would appreciate if you explain for us who would approve submissions (volunteers or paid staff) and if it is volunteers how do you make sure that there is no conflict of interest. I would also like to know that as a business how do you deal with eventual complaints and if there is any policy or procedures that makes sure that your client gets a fair treatment and an answer in timely manner. As a point of interest for myself and Since I have been a DMOZ editor for some time and quite familiar with territorial and unprofessional behavior of some senior editors in DMOZ, I would be very interested to know how joeant is dealing with such people in order to make sure that joeant avoids the repeat of DMOZ mistakes. I appreciate your attitude of engaging in discussions with people who are unsatisfied and trying to come to mutual understanding and fixing the problem instead of Hugo's attack anyone and everyone solution. Dialog and mutual understanding is always the best solution for long term success of any business. Thank you again for acting as a professional.
Gworld, Hugo has already answered your question and the answer is still the same - Volunteer editors do not review Speed-Pass submissions nor can they edit, delete or view them from our editor interface (Anthills). Hbird64 is one of our original 5 editors and just like the others, will defend JoeAnt.com when it's being attacked. His devotion to the JoeAnt project played a crucial part in our success. His only motive here is to make sure it remains a success. The amount of time he has put into JoeAnt dwarfs my own. Sit here and fault him for standing up for something he believes in if you want. Any directory owner would love an editor with Hugo's drive and devotion. I know I do! And yes...he's 100% a volunteer. Before we continue on, let's talk about your personal issue with JoeAnt.com. I believe your editor name was carguy. Is this correct?
I didn't see any attack on your directory but simple desire to clarify the way your company do business. The problem started when Hugo started to make it a big secret, posting nonsense and attacking everyone and anyone on site who was interested to know about your company's procedures. After looking at your first post here, I was hoping that you take a professional approach to the above questions and give a clear picture of your business practices but it seems that you have backed from your original posting that asked us to ask you about joeant and instead defending Hugo's mad approach to business. I have no problem with joeant and only like to know the answer to my questions in previous post but if you think that those answers are not beneficial to your directory image I can understand that too. In regard to carguy, he is one of the people that I use to submit to different directories and he has informed me that there was some problem with acceptance of one my sites in joeant (Exotics-Auto.com which is also in my signature in this forum) and I informed him that I don't care and he can just continue with submitting to other directories in his list since being listed in one more or less directory will make no difference in the long run. If you like to make this about me instead of discussing the issues on hand, that is fine with me but just look at the DMOZ section and you will notice that tactic was tried by many DMOZ editors and failed miserably because it will not solve the real problems that the directory suffers from. I hope your next post, will be more in line with your first post and discuss the issues instead of trying to make this a personal issue.
Gworld, I have no problem explaining how JoeAnt.com operates and the procedures we take. There's nothing to hide on "my" end. What hasn't been honestly disclosed yet is why you're so concerned. I hate being on the defensive and feel this is where it's headed, so... would you mind if I question some of "your" business procedures? I stride myself to be an honest man and can't help but feel attacked when an unhappy webmaster (who couldn't get his sites listed on JoeAnt.com) purposely posts a bogus RipOffReport on an extremely popular webmaster forum. Why would someone who has "no problem" with JoeAnt.com sink so low?
I really don't care about your secrets. The only thing I like to know what is any serious business will discuss openly and honestly, namely their business practices. This thread was not started by me and I only posted what I have seen and which was related to the subject. If you have any problem with RipOffReport, I suggest that you discuss it with them. The correct handling of the situation would have been to post a straight answer to the concerns raised and explain how the interest of clients are protected but it is very strange that Joeant Representatives are ready to discuss anything with the exception of giving a straight answer to such simple questions about their business practices like the procedures for handling clients complaints or the time frame for handling such matters.
Heh i dont think any serious business has to discuss things on a forum at all. Theres no rules for how a business should go about things. Also they have already said their volunteers why do you say "representatives"?
So according to your logic, if you buy a car and pay for it and the day you go to pick it up, the salesman will tell you that they have no car for you but they are going to keep your money since there is no rules for how a business should go about things, you will be happy with the answer and you just go home.
Calm down, Gworld. I was just showing everyone how easy it is to cooperate with you. I imagine if I needed an escort in Moscow or Seattle you'd be a lot friendlier - http://www.adultsad.com. The registrar claims it's owned by the same owner of http://www.exotics-auto.com, but I'm sure you have another witty rebuttal explaining otherwise. Why do they look identical? I'm going to answer your questions and then I'm done with you. You're a porn peddler that was exposed on JoeAnt.com and DMOZ.org (who were the ones that warned us about you in the first place). You're upset and have a vendetta. Instead of trying to prevent people from joining JoeAnt.com and DMOZ.org you should provide them all the details. I was hoping you'd have been man enough to do this on your own, but I was wrong. When you submit sites to Family-Friendly search engine/directories, make sure your sites don't link to an escort service that contains extreme nudity and links to dozens of porn sites! I'm off to enjoy my Thanksgiving holiday. I'll start a fresh thread when I come back and introduce myself properly. At that time, I'll answer Gworlds questions in a thread that hasn't been tainted with his lies and denials. I'm excited to be a member of this community and apologize for the circumstances that brought me here.
Since you continue to rant about our no refund policy, I'll let you in on our little secret. That is stated in our "Terms" only as a preventative measure to reduce spam. Truth is, we refund ALL sites that have been declined. Because of that clause, very few sites have been declined. They seem to really do their homework knowing there's a risk of losing their money and that makes our jobs a lot easier. It's the same tactic used by Business.com, Yahoo.com and several others. Gworld, How do your escorts charge? Do they offer any kind of refunds? I'd love to hear their terms.
LOL. Is this the best you can do in personal attacks? Look at the sites in my signature, do you see the exotics-classified, click on that and look the links on the right hand side, do you see the link to adultad.com? If I were going to hide anything, I wouldn't put in my signature, would I? The funny thing is that the site that you mentioned exotics-auto doesn't have a link to that site. I think your style of personal attacks to anyone who ask a question both here and in RipOffReport site, shows that is something that you are desperate to hide which makes me wonder what is it that makes you so desperate and in need of so many proxies to post for you in this forum? If what you are saying is true then why didn't you posted on RipOffReport instead of personal attack to the person who reported your site? You can call me what ever you want but I think it became quite obvious that you do not like to put any light on your business practices and desperate to keep the submissions fees at any price. I think your attitude and style of doing business, should be a serious warning to anyone considering doing business with you. In regard to your claim about DMOZ if they have warned you about me, can you tell me what is my editor name or which site I have added? If you don't have that information what did they warn you about? Did they warn you that I expose the corrupt practices and editors and therefore you should be careful?
Thats not how i meant it, your comparison also is way out of context to what your saying about joeant. How can you compare agreeing to joeants terms that if your site doesnt meet the requirements you may not get a refund to buying a car and the company keeping the money without you agreeing that may happen first.. I think its kind of sad you would file a ripofreport because your site was declined due to linking to porn (linking to a site which links to porn) and then link to that report in this thread as if it was someone else who made it
Welcome to another posting by proxy. I can see that there is no point in discussing with you, since as a proxy, you just have post what you have been told to post. How many proxy does it make now? Isn't just easier to discuss the question and solve any eventual problems than all these desperate postings? Your group actions just reminds me of good old corrupt gang in DMOZ. By the way, I didn't file the RipOffReport, I have never paid for the submission in joeant, It was just another "happy" customer of that directory.
Huh? I have nothing to do with joeant other then i submit sites there, i guess since i agree with joeant in this case i must be an employee, surely nobody could disagree with you that wasnt on the payroll..
You people make so much stories that in the end you have problem with keeping your stories straight. How do you submit your sites if you are not editor or maybe you just keep paying and since you are such nice customer, you insist that they should have a policy not to return your fee if your site is not accepted. May I suggest that you use this Thanks giving time and work together and come up with one story that remotely makes sense.
