Hi DP members, I have two sites which are added in my signature. They are not ranking with LONDON HOTELS and HOTELS IN LONDON so traffic is going down. While it was ranking earlier on first page of Google.com. They are ranking well other keywords like cheap apartments in London and Apartments Booking. Please check it and let me know whether it is penalized by Google. Thanks in advance for your favorable support anna
type site:domain.com in google If your site is the first result -> you're not deindexed type in domain.com your website is first result -> you're not penalized your website is on the first page but not #1 -> you are penalized and the penalty will most likely be removed in 30 days your website is not on the first page -> you're in trouble
If your site is penalize by Google than Check your webmaster tools than you will see that Google send a message about Website penalty.And your keywords ranking as well as your site traffic suddenly drop. There are lots of penalty checker tools but they did not work so don't waste your time on it.
Simple way is just google your website's url in search box of Google. If you didnt get your website then you are penalized. Example: search in box - example.com result wanted - example.com
simply search your site in search engine or type site: site url if your website on first page it is not penalized otherwise it is
Try to ask the question in Google Webmaster Forum. Summon from the authority of Google might answer you. I got better result that way.
Could be that your site was havinbg trouble being viewed when Google crawled the site, if the host server goes down this causes major problems to rankings within Google. I had a very similar issue and at the moment trying to rectify it.
before the penalization if your are on the first page of the Google, and if you are penalized by Google then type your keyword and search your website if you are not able to find your website on your keyword it means Google has penalized you.

A sudden drop in your traffic is usually a good indicator, and you can also just ask Google directly.
