Hi, I have a website running on WAMP server. It works fine most of the times. but it fails to respond some times, if we look at the system, we caould see the WAMP server icon in green colour and all the services are in running. but if we stop and start all services of WAMP, then the site will be accessible to all on the net. the following is the apache error log kindly check and suggest, how to overcome this problem. One more thing I just wanted to know from you is about "File does not exist: C:/wamp/www/favicon.ico " I created an icon file name favicon.ico in the root directory. still it is showing that the file is missing, why is it so ?
I do not have much experience with Apache on Windows (as I focus on Linux) but it may be permissions-based. It's okay to not have a favicon, so if you want to get rid of the error, simply add something like the below to the vhost sections: Redirect 404 /favicon.ico <Location /favicon.ico> ErrorDocument 404 "No favicon" </Location> Code (markup): Edit: I just checked your site's HTML code and I don't see a link ref for the favicon. Add the following to your HTML: <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" /> Code (markup): And then make sure that favicon.ico exists inside the webroot. That should also help clear up the issue.

None of the above techniques worked for me. the apache server still fails to respond every 8 or 10 hours. i have to restart all the services and it works fine for another 8 hours. how to resolve
Unfortunately, I do not have a lot of experience with WAMP setups (my expertise is with LAMP). You can try have a look at the Windows event logs to see if it reports any issues around the times that the server stops responding. If that doesn't help, I'd suggest you find a Windows server admin who has experience with WAMP servers.
